Asia South Equities Business Execution - SVP/VP
Working as part of the regional Equity Business Execution team, this role supports the Equity business with a focus on Asia South cluster to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives, compliance with the bespoke regulations associated with each market, as well as a strong governance and control framework maintained. As such this role not only requires an understanding of the Equity business, the operations of exchanges, clearing houses and custodians, but also the ability to identify and mitigate risks for the business by working with support functions such as Legal, Risk, Finance, Operations, Technology and Compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Work with senior management in driving strategic initiatives related to clients, people, capital, compliance, and coordinate across product groups, regions, sectors, functional partners to drive growth in the business.
- Drive control improvement projects and impact assessment in relation to regulatory change and commitments.
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of New Product capabilities from planning to execution.
- Work with Business Execution partners to streamline processes, technology, and build consistent policies and procedures.
- Drive efficiency / productivity/ cost savings initiatives in partnership with the senior management team and other functional partners.
- Review and enhance existing processes and ensure the development of new controls are comprehensive and business appropriate.
- Numerous ad-hoc analyses and presentations for senior management, framing issues and synthesizing key findings of team analyses and recommendations; special projects as required.
- Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis of operational risk events, and ensure delivery of remediation actions / Corrective Action Plans.
- Coordinate and manage any Internal Audits and Compliance Assurance
- Foster a collaborative team environment, providing guidance, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development among junior team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in COO/Business Execution/Business Management roles, preferably within Sales and Trading in an Equity or Global Market product role. Relevant support function experience also considered.
- Strong front to back understanding of trades and booking flows.
- Proven experience successfully driving day-to-day execution and strategic projects across a large matrixed organization.
- Attention to detail, strong problem solving, execution and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly self driven, ability to independently own work and operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Experience in escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Excel and PowerPoint expertise, data analytic knowledge (eg Tableau, PowerBI) a plus.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships, and work as a team player.
