Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled FX Sales professional to manage and grow a relevant wallet of portfolio clients. This is a seasoned professional role that applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and workflows within the FX Sales function. The successful candidate will integrate subject matter and industry expertise, with a deep understanding of how various areas collectively integrate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. This role is central to expanding our market presence, aiming to activate/reactivate clients, manage existing relationships, and requires a proactive approach to client engagement, leveraging data for strategic decision-making. FX automation knowledge plays a key role in the growth of this business. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving client activity and ensuring seamless, efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Proactively manage and develop relationships with a large base of low-touch institutional clients within the assigned portfolio, identifying opportunities for increased engagement and product adoption. This includes selling separate account services or finance products directly to Corporate clients.

  • Data Analysis & Insights: Utilize strong data analytical skills to identify client needs, trading patterns, and potential growth areas, translating insights into actionable sales strategies. Evaluate moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information.

  • Execution & Support: Facilitate client trading activities, ensuring efficient and accurate execution of FX transactions across various digital platforms. Aid the team in servicing clients in the buying and selling of securities, derivatives, FX, and commodities.

  • Product Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on digital FX products, providing clients with comprehensive information and guidance on platform functionalities and solutions. This includes helping to drive the team's developed strategy across specified product lines.

  • Process Adherence & Risk Management: Maintain rigorous adherence to all internal processes, regulatory requirements, and risk management protocols inherent to the FX business, ensuring client and institutional compliance. Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions, demonstrating proper consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Maintain clear, concise, and professional communication with clients and internal stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing inquiries effectively. This role requires excellent communication and diplomacy skills, often involving informal/formal leadership within teams and coaching new recruits. Partner closely with other key businesses and functions to ensure proper product deployment and foster an environment of collaboration by interfacing with internal partners to enhance share of mind with clients and deliver expertise.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes within the FX landscape to provide relevant advice and anticipate client needs. Understand and analyze clients' businesses and exposures to provide best-suited sales solutions in full coordination with all relevant business partners.

  • Strategic Growth: Aid in achieving specified goals in both market and wallet share for the identified client franchise. Originate and execute meaningful and landmark transactions. Independently and/or jointly work within business product to achieve strategic growth and market share objectives.

  • Governance and Control: Lead strong governance and controls, working in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure. Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance, supervision, expense discipline, and ethics.

Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • 5-8 years of experience in client-facing roles with a proven track record of growing and maintaining relationships through value-added service and commercial skills.

    • Some experience in FX products (Spot, Forwards, NDFs, Options, Swaps), preferably with exposure to high-volume client segments or portfolio management.

  • Skills:

    • Exceptional data analysis capabilities, with a strong ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into commercial opportunities. Requires good analytical skills to filter, prioritize, and validate complex material from multiple sources.

    • Strong understanding of FX market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and inherent risks.

    • Demonstrated diligence and meticulous attention to detail in process execution and risk mitigation.

    • High degree of organization and self-discipline to manage a large client portfolio effectively.

    • An entrepreneurial approach for business origination and developing new relationships.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
