Job Description:
The Lead Data Architect is responsible for planning and delivery of database architecture / design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance, performing needs assessments, database definition & structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, and creates and tests backups. Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management. Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area.
Responsibilities:
- Manages data architecture and help oversee and implement the design of strategic business information architecture framework that will focus primarily on improving the availability, accessibility, quality, governance, lineage, and reliability of data used across functions at Citi.
- Lead the development of the information architecture principles and framework for Citi’s Enterprise Analytics Platform (Citi’s big data environment) and Enterprise Risk Management (Citi’s risk platform).
- Create and maintain formal enterprise information management requirements that include business architecture models, conceptual and logical data models, data flows, enterprise data standards, data quality, data lineage, data backup, adoption strategies, and data remediation recommendations.
- Create business and technical architectures that accelerates solution designs, use of artificial intelligence and machine learning, improves quality of applications, drives data quality and interoperability, and ensures maximum utilizations of shared assets and services.
- Create detailed business and technical requirements documents reflecting the data needs of key business and technology initiatives at Citi.
- Work closely with key business SMEs to develop an in-depth understanding of their critical data needs and business impact of existing data quality and data integrity issues on a detailed level.
- Works on proof of concepts and implementation of data stores.
- Recognize the patterns of data needs across multiple business requirements and determine how to address these requirements using effective and efficient business data architecture.
- Work closely with key technology SMEs to address business and technical architecture requirements.
- Soft skills required to work with an executive team: high level communication skills, influence management, and good presentation ability.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years Data Architecture experience
- Artificial Intelligence experience a plus
- Banking, Financial Services experience a plus
- Excellent communications skills
- Demonstrated facility to interact and work effectively with diverse teams
- Ability to lead projects with multiple counterparts across organizations
- Ability to work under pressure, facilitate discussions and conduct group meetings
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree/MBA

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$142,320.00 - $213,480.00
