Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile individual to join our APAC Derivatives Market Making team in a Techo Functional role. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate directly with business and partnering functions. It will involve analysis of requirements, coordination of work amongst dev teams, as well as individual work effort to deliver solutions that meet evolving needs across multiple derivatives & market-making business lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis: Work closely with traders, quants, risk management, and other stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for derivatives market-making systems and processes.
- Solution Design & Development Support: Translate business requirements into technical specifications, supporting the development team with clear, concise, and actionable insights. Participate in the design phase, offering a blend of technical and functional understanding.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between the APAC Derivatives Market Making team and other internal Citi teams (e.g., Technology, Operations, Risk) to ensure seamless communication and successful project delivery.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize SQL skills to query and analyze data, generate reports, and assist in validating system enhancements and business outcomes.
- System Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and assist in the resolution of production incidents related to front-to-back processes that the derivatives & market-making business relies on.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for requirements, design proposals, processes and system functionalities.
- Testing Support: Assist in the creation of test cases and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business objectives.
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience
- 10+ YOE is a mandate.
- Technical Foundations: Basic proficiency in Java programming for understanding and contributing to codebases.
- Database Skills: Solid understanding and practical experience with SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Operating Systems: Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and basic command-line operations.
- Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to dissect complex business problems and propose practical solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across different teams.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Desirable Skills (A Plus)
- Derivatives Knowledge: Prior exposure to or a foundational understanding of financial derivatives products (e.g., options, futures, swaps) and market-making concepts.
- Financial Services Background: Experience working within the financial services industry, particularly in a trading or investment banking context.
