Job Overview
Job Description This particular Business Risk Officer will be a dedicated Third Party Risk Officer (TPRO) and will be responsible for managing third party relationships for Markets. The TPRO role requires in depth business product knowledge and expertise and will manage risk associated with the third party relationship across all stages of the third party lifecycle. The TPRO will work in concert with Business Activity Owners (BAOs), business operations and technology teams, internal functions, risk organizations and second line of defense to identify, manage and mitigate risk. This role will have a global remit. Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing a portfolio of third party relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to identify, mitigate and report risks.
• Work closely with business partners on findings resulting from control execution.
• Stay abreast of procedural implementation and change management processes to ensure proper governance and controls exist.
• Completion of risk assessments to determine inherent risks associated with third party portfolio.
• Onboard new third party relationships in collaboration with BAO and other business stakeholders.
• Track issue management along with risk exceptions and effectively communicate risks resulting from those issues.
• Escalate emerging risks as appropriate.
• Manages multiple controls with differing levels of risk and due dates.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years relevant work experience in Business Risk & Controls
• 5+ years’ experience in financial services
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Effective organizational influencing skills required
• Demonstrated ability to lead global team efforts
• Education: Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
