Job Overview

Seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to build sophisticated AI agents and predictive analytics tools. The role involves leveraging AI frameworks to create practical, high-impact solutions. You will focus on architecting intelligent systems that solve complex business challenges, moving beyond model creation. Responsibilities:

• The ideal candidate will specialize in the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated AI-powered tools and autonomous agents. This role is focused on leveraging state-of-the-art machine learning models and frameworks to build practical, high-impact solutions, including predictive analytics platforms and intelligent automation systems. This is a pivotal role for an engineer who is passionate about applying cutting-edge AI to solve complex business challenges, moving beyond model creation to architecting intelligent, agent-based systems.
• Architect, build, and deploy robust, scalable AI agents and tools using frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, and others. Your focus will be on creating systems that can reason, act, and automate complex workflows.
• Integrate pre-trained Large Language Models (LLMs) and other foundational models into cohesive, end-to-end applications. Develop and optimize data ingestion and processing pipelines for these systems.
• Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define requirements, scope projects, and deliver AI solutions that meet strategic objectives.
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
• Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
• Serve as a subject matter expert in the practical application of various AI/ML frameworks. Evaluate, select, and optimize the right tools and techniques for specific use cases.
• Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 2-6 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
• AI Frameworks:Hands-on, practical experience with modern AI development frameworks such asLangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar agent-based and orchestration tools.
• Python Expertise:Advanced proficiency in Python and its ecosystem of libraries for data science and machine learning (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to design effective, scalable solutions for complex and often ambiguous problems.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

Education:

• Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical discipline.

• Experience with vector databases and search technologies (e.g., Pinecone, Chroma, FAISS, Elasticsearch).
• A portfolio of projects (e.g., on GitHub) demonstrating the construction of AI agents, tools, or complex application workflows.
• Experience building and consuming APIs (REST, gRPC).
• Familiarity with data engineering and building scalable data pipelines.
