Job purpose

This is a critical role is under Controllers and Ledger Technology team to support the business through a rapid modernization, working cross-functionally with key stakeholders to identify and implement both the quick wins, and longer-term strategy.

This is a very hands-on role requiring a combination of project delivery management & business/technical analysis skills. We’re looking for a candidate that is capable and willing to work across a broad range of teams. Candidate needs to demonstrate strong structured thinking, be well organized and possess good communication skills. Role offers steep learning curve and exposure to senior management across Finance – in return very strong ownership is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives finance transformation, through leveraging the Digital Platform (enabled digital innovation), helping to build the bank of the future, and strengthening data-driven decision-making
  • Responsible for the coordination of key programs/ projects involving multiple countries and products globally, including planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day activities of running a program or projects, communicating project progress and deviations to key stakeholders, and running working groups as appropriate.
  • Partners with both the business and technology to ensure that strategies and solutions are coherent and EUCs/EUSs are managed through a robust process
  • Manage various initiatives across their entire lifecycle from user journeys, requirements gathering, delivery and test planning, testing, training and implementation
  • Drive a culture of change, simplification, and client centricity
  • A strong promoter of solutions and effective communicator, expressing the progress for EUC elimination/remediation (Engaging in relevant committees)
  • Reviews, advises, and designs solutions, accounting for: risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on the business process and goals
  • Develops and documents on-going approach
  • Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate
  • Exhibits knowledge of how Finance Transformation contributes to driving business outcomes
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources
  • Supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Ensure effective wider communication of change portfolio, benefits, and timelines.
  • Prepare and present excellent quality outputs (e.g. audit reports , stakeholder communications, strategy slides and closing meeting slides) with an eye for detail to communicate key messages in a succinct and balanced way to a range of stakeholders helping to inform effective decision-making.
  • Contribute to the overall project plan, financials and risks by working with the business, change managers and delivery leads to ensure milestones, forecasts and risks are accurately managed
  • Support in the definition of Business Requirements and translation of these into more detailed technical requirements for use by the technology teams where required
  • Work effectively and individually with Technical and Non-Technical team members and stakeholders
  • Assist with the definition of the post-implementation support and operating model and ensure a smooth transition into BAU for each product as it is deployed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of work experience across banking and technology
  • Exceptional project management skills – proven track record in implementing change across multiple functions/units
  • Proven track record in managing a Regulatory/Remediation portfolio in a leadership role
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with regulatory requirements , policies and processes
  • Experience in project management and delivery including requirements gathering, systems design and execution
  • Previous experience working closely with Compliance/Risk/Operations
  • Experience of tech project implementation and proven delivery. In addition to sound project management/governance
  • Experience of project management tools, for example Jira
  • Experience in working with stakeholders across the business (Both the business and technology) to ensure the projects / delivery targets are met.
  • Experience and knowledge of Financial Systems/Processes preferred
  • Experience leading teams: team will be a high paced delivery team and the candidate should have strong people /team management skills
  • Analytical mindset to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations
  • Be able to pay attention to details while keeping the higher goal in mind
  • Collaborative and be able to motivate, empower, challenge, and stimulate their team
  • Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence senior executives
  • Experience in supporting transformation projects and organizational change initiatives
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative skills; being able to analyze data, draw conclusions, identify trends and issues, and diagnose root cause of issues
  • Proven experience in providing quality control and oversight to a portfolio of projects.
  • Track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
