DRO is responsible for providing Gloden Source reference data to our clients across the franchise, through implementing state of the art technologies which promote the collection, storage, analysis, and distribution of product, pricing, account and corporate action data. The DRO organization works in partnership with data clients across all business lines, deploying solutions to increase their competitiveness, through restructuring business processes, simplifying information access, and providing business intelligence around critical data.
Within DRO, GPU is an integral part of the Centralized Pricing team and operates on a global model with end-to-end ownership and providing 24/6 coverage. The team includes dedicated Pricing Experts, with extensive experience in Security setups & security Pricing treatments. Over the years, GPU has gathered expertise in Pricing a variety of capital market instruments. The team responsible for providing security pricing data to fund accounting team to ensure timely and accurate NAV is delivered to the clients.
Primary responsibilities include – To design and consistently execute on standard operating model of the division. Ensure seamless delivery of BAU function process transactions and facilitate accurate and timely processing of daily prices, security setup and meeting service levels, production workflows, and training. Support the execution of strategic business initiatives, workflow design, and implementation of the department’s goals and objectives. Ensure that all company policies are followed, and special projects are carried out in a competent and cost effective manner. Build strong working relationships with functional managers and develop the product and business knowledge on Global security pricing for the team in Pune.
Ensure steady flow of completing daily tasks, gain expertise over the functions you are handling and align appropriate backups in all servicing functions. Ensure quality assurance on critical functions. Maintain productivity standards and focus on providing best in class customer service to avoid unnecessary expenses associated with customer dissatisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluating the integrity of vendor supplied pricing data against market movements and alternative sources
- Manage and process production tasks through assessment and analysis of market level activity. Assist with ad-hoc requests and projects
- Assist in the assessment of effectiveness of pricing controls and the tolerances used in applying those controls.
- Assist in identifying and implementing desirable systems or procedures enhancements.
- People and resource management (e.g. people development, attrition, pipeline/skills monitoring, and training programs).
- Manage the performance management cycle- Objective setting, development and career planning, performance appraisal and reward & recognition for the team.
- Maintain effective Standard Operational Procedure
- Improving and maintaining a controlled environment (e.g. necessary controls activities along process flow implemented, appropriate control tools in place, team members fully understand risks and related controls)
- Manage relationship with internal teams, anticipate needs, take feedback, run conference calls.
- Act as a point of contact for escalations and high priority requests from internal clients.
- Send early warning reports if workloads impact turnaround time or quality parameters.
- Take responsibility for the quality of work submitted and ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
- Identify/ manage risk and control breakdowns.
- Conduct regular team meetings (onshore and offshore staff), 1:1s, and coaching sessions.
- Manage projects and other initiative as required.
- Strong business knowledge i.e. Investment Banking, product knowledge in derivatives, fixed income, and equities.
- Ensure all day to day queries dealt within required SLAs and escalate issues to the immediate manager
- Maintain and publish, weekly, monthly KPI alongside Manager and participate in discussions with onshore management and teams
- Must be organized and have excellent follow-up and prioritization abilities
- Assist the management in keeping abreast of significant events, outstanding items, or issues encountered.
- Review emails, news flashes, and regulatory guidance to enhance the department’s ability to evaluate prices and take action to provide timely representations of market value.
- Ensure adherence to all audit policies and procedures. Work with both internal and external auditors on any requests / inquiries related to SOX, SOC1 or other regulatory audits and control analysis.
- Understand global procedures to support other markets during off hours
- Expected to work in various shifts to support APAC, EMEA, and NAM operations
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Strong knowledge of asset pricing theory and probability; practical experience in fixed income pricing and reference data.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to build partnerships with operational associates
- High degree of problem solving skills, attention to details, ability to multitask
- Can operate effectively in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines, and can prioritize team’s work to achieve them
- Previous Pricing or reference data experience within an investment bank
- Familiarity with a wide array of financial product types like bond, equity or derivatives.
- Ability to complete the daily pricing analysis function and identify potential problems and issues.
- Understanding of the components and calculation of the net asset value.
- Maintain sound knowledge of various types of securities and markets in order to analyse price reasonableness provided by vendors and brokers.
- Ability to review others’ work through attention to details and detect control and pricing problems effectively.
- Knowledge and familiarity with Pricing data vendors (Bloomberg, Reuters etc)
- Strong organization skills with an excellent attention to detail and ability to focus on high quality work while under pressure
- Proficient in MS Office Applications, with an emphasis on Excel and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree in business related major or equivalent experience.
- Graduate-level courses in accounting, finance or management are viewed favourably.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Crisis management – Requires the ability to handle multiple problems and make quick decisions under pressure in order to meet pricing deadlines for reporting funds net asset values(NAV). This would entail dealing with various external and internal personnel to resolve problems.
- Work with Fund Accountant, Trade controller and Compliance to resolve complex pricing issues.
- Work with Investment Accounting, Global Financial Reporting, Corporate Actions and Settlements areas to ensure accurate accounting information is maintained in all systems.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
- Superior problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, project management skills, flexibility and swiftness in action.
- Ability to make decisions on pricing securities, security setups and corporate actions
