Job Overview
The Engineer Sr Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and development of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the budgetary requirement definition for assigned product area, develop functional specifications, and create project plans and software release schedules
- Partner with business and development teams to identify engineering requirements and assist in defining application and system requirements and processes and maintain engineering relationships with the end user/client
- Ensure requirements/tasks from technology departments and/or end users are communicated to stakeholders
- Provide solutions and processes in accordance with audit initiatives and requirements and consult with Business Information Security officers (BISOs) and TISOs
- Exhibit in-depth understanding of engineering concepts and principles
- Assist with training activities and mentor junior team members
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in an Engineering role
- Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment
- Project Management experience
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices
- Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
- Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Proven track record of operational process change and improvement

Tableau Developer / Data Visualization Specialist

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Tableau Developer / Data Visualization Specialist with 8-10 years of professional experience to join our data analytics team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining interactive and insightful dashboards and reports using Tableau. A strong understanding and hands-on experience with various database technologies, data modeling, and SQL are essential for success in this role. You will be instrumental in transforming complex data into actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Dashboard Development:Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, interactive, and visually appealing Tableau dashboards and reports that meet business requirements and provide actionable insights.
- Data Source Integration:Connect to various data sources (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Snowflake, Redshift, SAP, cloud data warehouses, flat files) and integrate them efficiently into Tableau.
- Data Modeling & Preparation:Work closely with data engineers and business stakeholders to understand data structures, perform data blending, data shaping, and data preparation within Tableau or upstream ETL processes.
- Performance Optimization:Optimize Tableau dashboards and reports for performance, scalability, and user experience, including efficient use of extracts, live connections, filters, and calculations.
- SQL & Database Proficiency:Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to extract, transform, and load data from various relational and non-relational databases for reporting purposes. Hands-on experience with database performance tuning is a plus.
- Requirements Gathering:Collaborate with business users, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather and understand reporting requirements, translating them into technical specifications and data visualization solutions.
- Data Storytelling:Present data in a clear, concise, and compelling manner, creating narratives that highlight key trends, insights, and recommendations.
- Documentation & Best Practices:Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for dashboards, data sources, and development processes. Adhere to and promote Tableau best practices, governance, and standards.
- User Training & Support:Provide training and support to business users on how to effectively use Tableau dashboards and interpret data.
- Troubleshooting:Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data integrity and performance issues related to Tableau dashboards and underlying data sources.
- Mentorship & Leadership:Potentially mentor junior developers and contribute to the overall growth and capability of the data analytics team.
- Stay Current:Keep abreast of the latest features, trends, and best practices in Tableau, data visualization, and database technologies.
