Job Overview

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• • Research and resolve complex issues, escalating as appropriate.
  • 5+ years of hands on experience in building UI/UXComponents using Angular and Typescript 
  • Hands on development experience working on Micro Frontends using Angular and integration with REST APIs
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes and other containerized platforms.
  • Ability to effectively interact, collaborate with development team
  • Ability to effectively communicate development progress to the Project Lead
  • Work with developers onshore, offshore and matrix teams to implement a business solution
  • Investigate possible bug scenarios and production support issues
  • Experience developing application in Financial Services industry is preferred
  • Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
  • Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
  • Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
  • Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
  • Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
  • Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
  • Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. 
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy. 
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Tools and technologies:

• Angular, React, TypeScript, Next.js/Vite, storybook etc.
• React, Angular & Test-Driven Development are essential.
• Access to time-saving AI tools such as GitHub Copilot andCognition.ai's Devin.

Education:

• Bachelor / Master Degree with 5-8 years of experience in Computer Science.

Good to have

• Familiarity with Next.js, Vite, internal design systems.
• Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Tekton, Lightspeed, Harness.

Skills:

Must have 

• Proficiency in JavaScript, React (or another UI framework), and TypeScript Experience with state management libraries (redux, context API), for building well-structured applications.
• Experience with storybooks or componentized development. Proficiency in implementing streaming and real-time experiences (e.g., word/token streaming, live updates, progress/status indicators).
• Ability to design intuitive UIs for AI‑first experiences (chat, streaming, agentic workflows).
• Ability to ship production UI features and influence architecture
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, performance optimization, and responsive design.

• Strong expertise (5–8 years) building modern frontend applications with Angular, React, Node.js and TypeScript.
