The Reference Data Services Senior Manager is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Head of Rates Operations to lead a critical function within the Securities, Pricing and Events Department. This manager role is responsible for end-to-end management of Rates-related operational processes, people leadership, risk and control oversight, and close partnership with Technology and change teams to drive automation, efficiency, and risk reduction.

The successful candidate will combine strong people and project management capabilities with a solid understanding of operational risk, controls, and regulatory expectations in a global environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of operations professionals, including day-to-day workload management, performance management, coaching, and succession planning
  • Foster a strong risk and control culture, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset
  • Ensure processes are compliant with internal policies, procedures, and standards
  • Act as management contact for internal audits, regulatory reviews, and external audits (e.g., KPMG)
  • Lead and coordinate audit responses, remediation plans, and ongoing control enhancements
  • Lead process reviews, control assessments, and process improvements
  • Partner closely with Technology and Project teams to drive automation, system enhancements, and process simplification
  • Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, providing clear updates on performance, risks, and strategic initiatives
  • Ensure effective coverage and service delivery across APAC, EMEA, and NAM time zones

Ideal background:

  • Minimum 8 years of banking operations experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
  • Strong background in project and change management within an operational environment
  • Solid understanding of operational risk, controls, audits, and governance frameworks
  • Experience leading or supporting internal and external audits
  • Flexibility to support business coverage across APAC, EMEA, and NAM hours
  • Experience in Securities / Pricing Operations or a closely related area will be advantage
  • Understanding of securities and pricing reference data
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with data
