VP, New Activity Risk Management Lead Analyst - C13 (New York / Getzville)
As part of New Activity Risk Management Change Delivery Team, you will help enhance and implement the firm-wide New Activity process, including process design, business specific guidelines and required technology solutions. You will get opportunities to support the design and implementation of an enterprise wide process of scrutinizing novel developments in the firm’s business activities, support product risk rating and ongoing monitoring as well as support adoption of Product Taxonomy across the enterprise.
You will need to effectively partner with all the Markets, Banking, Services, Personal Banking and Wealth Management Businesses, Support and Control Functions and Second Line to support the implementation, develop the tech infrastructure and supporting enterprise-wide guidance / policy and allow for efficient and sustainable outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and implementation of strategic solutions and processes, that enhance the New Activity Approval process, Product Risk Rating and Ongoing Monitory, Product Taxonomy Adoption
- Support the execution of remediation with timely and effective outcomes against regulatory expectations
- Continue to develop guidelines and training materials to facilitate the implementation of the New Activity Approval process, Product Risk Rating, Ongoing Monitory and Product Taxonomy Adoption
- Ensure strong ongoing engagement by the Business and Functions that participate in the product approval and governance process
- Update on-going reports providing metrics and updates for monitoring progress and updates to senior management
- Create ad hoc reports and presentations, as necessary, for socialization and periodic updates.
- Partner with key stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization (business & functions) to accomplish goals.
- Escalate program risks to the Program Manager, when appropriate
- Engage with businesses and stakeholders across different businesses, geographies, and functions to prescreen assess and advise on their submissions in Ideation stage
- Challenge new activity proposals for quality and completeness and provide guidance to business, risk and control functions
- Assist businesses with validation and closure of any Conditions of approval assigned through the review process
- Maintain formal documentation proceedings and records of approvals
- Schedule and manage New Activity Risk Management Committee meetings and required materials
- Manage and provide support to business and functions for the Technical Due Diligence process
- Support strong ongoing engagement by the Business and Functions that participate in the new activity approval and governance process within First Line of Defense
- Effectively manage and ensure delivery of scheduled Post Implementation Reviews
- Implement global policies and standards in the new activity space, ensuring alignment to the Risk Governance Framework, Risk Appetite, and regulatory expectations
- Ensure adherence to the new activity related requirements of the primary regional regulators as applicable
- Collaborate regionally and globally with other New Activity Risk Managers within New Activity Risk Management
- Support management of delivery of Post Execution Reviews to ensure execution occurred in a manner consistent with parameters and risk appetite defined during the new activity approval process.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of teams and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience
- Demonstrated relevant experience including supporting risk management, compliance, or governance and controls related roles
- Strong knowledge of relevant Citi or Banking Industry businesses and products and their risk profile and ability to apply this knowledge to specific situations
- Experience in a role that requires problem solving, analytical capabilities, some strategic thinking, and project management
- Solid organizational skills, ability to multi-task and identify issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills while working across multiple functions and teams. Ability to build effective internal and external networks
- Proven ability to partner and collaborate across the Firm, excellent influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills, with the ability to build relationships, partner effectively and build a strong internal network across functions and throughout the global Risk organization.
- Engages key stakeholders early and often and actively looks for opportunities to improve collaboration in achieving common goals.
- Ability to communicate clearly, to think and act independently, and to know when to ask for guidance from more experienced officers or specialists.

Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree
- Master's degree preferred with an analytical focus (e.g. finance, economics, engineering, mathematics etc.)
