Job Overview
Trade and Working Capital Solutions (TWCS) within the Services organization is a dynamic, high growth global business that offers working capital solutions to clients across Corporate Bank, Banking and International and Citi Commercial Bank client segments in over 100 countries. The TWCS Business Execution team is responsible for the overall business strategy, strategic projects execution, technology agenda management and execution, performance management and productivity.
Team/Role Overview
We are seeking a highly accomplished and dynamic Business Execution Lead at the Director level to drive the successful design and implementation of our Target Operating Model, execute strategic projects, and lead the commercialization of new products, capabilities, and solutions within Trade and Working Capital Solutions. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record of translating strategic intent into tangible results and bringing innovative offerings to the market within a complex, global financial institution.
Reporting directly to the Head of TWCS Business Execution, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading high-profile, end-to-end projects that are critical to the evolution and efficiency of our Trade and Working Capital businesses, while also ensuring new offerings are effectively commercialized and directly support client strategy execution. This role demands robust strategic thinking, exceptional execution capabilities, and the ability to navigate a highly matrixed organizational structure.
What you’ll do
Strategic Project Leadership: Lead and manage the execution of key strategic initiatives and projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy for Trade and Working Capital Solutions. Projects are end to end across the Business and selected on the basis of maximizing the impact for clients, the Business and the Trade team.
Target Operating Model Implementation: Drive the design, development, and implementation of the Target Operating Model, optimizing end to end processes, systems, and organizational structures to enhance efficiency, control, and client experience. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and standardization within Trade and Working Capital front office, operations and technology, driving initiatives to enhance the client experience, productivity and efficiency.
Commercialization and Client Strategy Execution: Spearhead the full commercialization lifecycle for new products, capabilities, and solutions. This includes implementing new design frameworks, driving market readiness, developing comprehensive go-to-market strategies, and ensuring effective adoption that directly supports the execution of client strategies and business growth objectives. This role requires a keen understanding of client needs, market dynamics and internal governance requirements to ensure successful product launches and sustained value creation.
Executive and Stakeholder Partnership: Foster strong relationships with TWCS Executive Committee (ExCo) members, Services senior leadership, and key stakeholders across Product, Sales, Operations, and Technology functions to secure buy-in, manage expectations, and ensure collaborative project and commercialization delivery.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with diverse teams across geographies and functional areas to integrate strategic initiatives and new offerings seamlessly into existing business operations and technology platforms.
End-to-End Project Management: Oversee all aspects of project lifecycle for strategic projects, including scope definition, resource allocation, budget management, risk mitigation, and reporting, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish clear metrics for project success, operating model effectiveness, and commercialization impact, regularly reporting progress and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
Operation Independently: Demonstrate leadership and the ability to operate independently, making informed decisions and driving initiatives forward with minimal supervision within a global, highly complex organizational environment.
What we’ll need from you
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 15+ years of experience in financial services, with significant experience in business transformation, strategic execution, project management and/or product commercialization roles.
Demonstrated experience in managing high-impact, end-to-end projects and bringing new products/capabilities to market, including the implementation of new design frameworks, within a global context.
Experience in Trade Finance and/or Transactional Banking is a significant plus.

Execution Excellence: Strong track record of successfully delivering complex projects and achieving strategic objectives, including effective product and solution launches, and the successful implementation of new operational and design frameworks.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with senior executives and diverse stakeholder groups as well as senior stakeholders.
Collaboration: A highly collaborative approach, with the ability to work seamlessly across various functions and geographies.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguous situations and develop effective solutions.
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team motivation, conflict resolution, and talent development.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly evolving global environment.
