Job Overview

The Cards Client Executive (Cards CE) is a strategic professional responsible for a portfolio of global Commercial Cards client relationships. The Cards CE strategically owns the portfolio, ensuring positive client experience, growth through cross-sell of Card products and optimization of existing business, program retention, contracting, pricing, and overall client management. This professional stays abreast of developments within their own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in their own job and the business.

As a recognized technical authority for an area within the business, the Cards CE requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. The role has a significant impact on the area through complex deliverables and provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. This work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.

Responsibilities:

The Cards CE role is multifaceted, focusing on strategic client management, commercial growth, and internal operational excellence. Responsibilities are grouped into the following key areas:

Client Strategy & Relationship Management

  • Strategically own and manage a portfolio of global client relationships, acting as the primary client advocate to ensure a positive experience, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Regular in-person and virtual client meetings including documenting via CRM call notes. KPI's will be monitored for client engagement levels.
  • Develop a deep understanding of clients' organizational structures, operating procedures, and business needs to effectively deliver Citi's products and solutions.
  • Cultivate and expand relationships across the client's organization, from operational contacts to senior leadership.
  • Serve as the strategic point of ownership for the client relationship including issues, while receiving the support from coordinating teams such as service, operations, product, technical, etc.

Commercial & Revenue Growth

  • Partner with Global Solution Sales and Banking Relationship Coverage teams to drive revenue expansion and realization through cross-selling opportunities and deal implementation. Also partner with these partners on joint business reviews and client meetings/engagement.
  • Initiate and shepherd the end-to-end contract process for renewals and incremental deals, including creating pricing models, pricing terms, negotiating with clients, and working with Legal to finalize and sign agreements.
  • Develop and manage pricing models for renewals and new business, including presenting pricing scenarios to senior leadership for review and presenting directly to clients.
  • Conduct monthly spend/revenue analysis and forecasting to ensure account profitability is accurately reflected and communicated. Track any volume changes, notify partners internally and to client for any changes and support remediation efforts related to spend trends.

Internal Operations, Risk & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and timely updates in all required systems, including CRM for deal management and other Citi tools for tracking client sentiment, issues, and risks.
  • Work in close partnership with internal teams, including Sales, Implementations, Operations, Client Delivery, Legal, and Compliance—to ensure seamless service delivery and appropriate governance.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to Citi's policies, including CITIKYC/AML requirements for new business and responsible financial practices.
  • Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrate particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguard Citi, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or equivalent experience in a Commercial Card environment.
  • Proven track record of successful client-focused activity, Back Office Cash Management, or Trade Operations Experience.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Committed, trusted team player.
  • High energy and initiative.
  • Time management and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred/Equivalent Experience.

$129,840.00 - $194,760.00
