Job Overview

The Sustainability Strategy Analyst is part of Citi’s Sustainability & ESG team, which is responsible for the development and execution of Citi’s sustainability strategy, Net Zero Plan, $1 Trillion Sustainable Finance Goal and related key initiatives. The Sustainability & ESG team manages environmental, climate change, human rights and other stakeholder and business issues in partnership with Citi's businesses, risk functions and operational teams.

The Sustainability Strategy Analyst provides support to the team’s priorities and reports to the Managing Director, Head of Sustainability Strategy, who reports to the Chief Sustainability Officer.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented analyst to join Citi’s Sustainability & ESG Team. The ideal candidate will be able to apply sustainability and project management experience, data analysis and written and verbal communication skills across a range of assignments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of various sustainability initiatives and projects related to team priorities such as Citi’s sustainability strategy, stakeholder engagement, and corporate disclosures.

  • Conduct research and benchmarking analyses on sustainability trends, themes, best practices, and regulatory developments, to share insights, synthesize information and provide summaries and evaluations based on research findings. Develop presentations, talking points and other communication materials on sustainability and ESG-related topics and themes for external and internal engagement and track follow up needs and responses.

  • Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to help promote and integrate sustainability initiatives across the bank.

  • Contribute to data due diligence processes and help monitor and track progress towards sustainability goals and objectives.

  • Help drive employee engagement and internal communication programs and respond to stakeholder inquiries and requests for information as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (master's degree preferred)
  • 2+ years’ experience in sustainability, climate, finance, investing or related role
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical, research and investigative skills, ability to evaluate and assess complex topics and creatively problem-solve
  • Strong program management skills, including the ability to create work plans and meet deadlines
  • Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with sustainability regulations and industry best practices
  • Understanding of sustainability frameworks, principles and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, TNFD, CSRD, CSDDD, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team, while also a self-starter with ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional work ethic, ability to work under deadline and strong attention to detail

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$78,320.00 - $109,280.00
