Spring by Citi is Citi’s global digital payment acceptance service for enabling ecommerce (B2C and B2B) funds flow for enterprise merchants across 20+ markets around the world. Spring by Citi offers acceptance of locally-relevant payment methods and seamless access to Citi’s industry-leading treasury solutions and banking services across Citi’s proprietary global payments network. In combination with Citi’s embedded FX, enhanced reconciliation and reporting capabilities, Spring by Citi offers a wide range of services across clients’ corporate treasury, payment operations, marketing and sales teams.

Citi is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Payments Product Enablement Manager for Spring by Citi, our global digital payment acceptance service. This critical leadership role, based in New York, will be instrumental in ensuring that all products and features developed for Spring by Citi are not only cutting-edge and client-centric but also fully compliant with Citi's global policies, procedures, and banking regulations. The successful candidate will lead the product readiness function, guaranteeing that our innovative e-commerce solutions are robust, secure, and scalable across all operating markets.

Key Responsibilities:
Product Readiness & Compliance Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the comprehensive product readiness framework for all Spring by Citi products and features, ensuring meticulous adherence to Citi's global policies, internal procedures, and all relevant regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.

  • Develop and implement robust processes for product reviews, risk assessments, and compliance checks throughout the product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and post-launch monitoring.

  • Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for internal control functions (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit) regarding product designs and operational readiness.

  • Ensure all necessary documentation, approvals, and training are in place before product rollout.

Issue Management and Remediation:

  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end process for identifying, tracking, and resolving issues related to Spring by Citi products and operations, ensuring timely remediation in strict accordance with Citi's established policies and procedures.

  • Implement and maintain robust issue escalation frameworks, ensuring transparency and appropriate stakeholder communication throughout the issue lifecycle.

  • Drive root cause analysis for identified issues and collaborate with relevant teams to implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.

Third-Party Management Oversight:

  • Ensure that all third-party partners engaged in the delivery or support of Spring by Citi services fully comply with Citi's comprehensive third-party management requirements, including due diligence, risk assessment, ongoing monitoring, and performance reviews.

  • Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, and Risk functions to establish and maintain a rigorous oversight framework for all vendor relationships, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and regulatory expectations.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with third-party engagements, safeguarding Citi's reputation and operational resilience.

Bank-Led E-commerce Innovation:

  • This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of banking-led e-commerce. The Director will actively identify and capitalize on opportunities to evolve bank features, making them more innovative, digitally integrated, and aligned with the dynamic needs of digital commerce as part of the core Spring by Citi value proposition. This involves reimagining how Citi's unparalleled banking capabilities can deliver distinct advantages in the e-commerce payments landscape.

  • Work closely with product development teams to embed unique bank-led capabilities that enhance the Spring by Citi value proposition, providing unparalleled security, efficiency, and financial control for enterprise merchants.

Horizontal Partnership & Value Creation:

  • Cultivate strong, collaborative partnerships across Citi's global payments ecosystem and the wider business (e.g., Liquidity, Trade, Markets) to identify synergies and integrate capabilities that maximize client and organizational value.

  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Technology, Operations, and Regional teams to ensure seamless product development, launch, and ongoing support.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of product readiness and innovation specialists, fostering an environment of continuous learning, professional growth, and accountability.

  • Manage resource allocation, performance evaluations, and career development plans for team members.

Strategic Contribution:

  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction of Spring by Citi, bringing deep expertise in banking regulations, product compliance, and payments innovation to key business decisions.

  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform product strategy.

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
•    10+ years of extensive experience in product management, product readiness, regulatory compliance, or a related field within a major financial institution or leading payment service provider.
•    Strong background in payments, e-commerce, or fintech, with a deep understanding of merchant acquiring, payment gateways, and digital payment ecosystems.
•    Proven track record of successfully navigating complex regulatory environments and ensuring product compliance across multiple global jurisdictions.
•    In-depth knowledge of banking policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks relevant to global payments and e-commerce (e.g., KYC/AML, PCI DSS, data privacy, consumer protection laws, cross-border payment regulations).
•    Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build consensus across diverse teams.
