Job Overview
The Partnership Management Sr. Lead is a strategic professional responsible for driving growth through the development, coordination, and management of partnership programs and business opportunities across Citi. This role involves closely following the latest industry trends, sourcing and evaluating new partnership opportunities, and executing referral initiatives. The ideal candidate will leverage excellent communication and diplomacy skills to guide, influence, and convince internal and external stakeholders, including senior-level colleagues. This position is accountable for delivering significant direct business results and providing authoritative advice on business operations, requiring a high degree of responsibility over technical strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying and researching potential new partnerships or referral opportunities across Citi businesses.
- Support relationship building efforts with internal stakeholders and partner teams to strengthen collaboration.
- Prepare presentations and create customized, ad-hoc marketing materials as needed.
- Participate in preparing materials for partnership discussions, contract updates, and/or internal reviews.
- In conjunction with internal Citibank legal counsel and/or external legal counsel, as appropriate, negotiate escrow agreements for new transactions, adhering closely to Citi legal requirements and client timeframes. Understand and minimize the risks of escrow agent transactions when negotiating agreements.
- Help manage the day-to-day activities of existing referral programs, ensuring smooth coordination across product teams, operations, and frontline staff.
- Track referral activity, follow up with business partners, and help escalate issues when required.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving referral quality, conversion, and customer experience.
- Coordinate deal closings with clients – attend and/or participate in closing calls as necessary. Ownership and execution of key Banker/Sales business & practice monitoring and control activities which includes production of various periodic management status reports, committees, etc. as required
- Work with marketing, products, finance, risk, and operations partners to support the execution of referral or partnership initiatives.
- Coordinate deal closings with clients, attending and/or participating in closing calls as necessary.
- Help coordinate the internal process for periodic partnership reviews and contract updates.
- Assist in pipeline management, account planning, and basic reporting on partnership or referral performance.
- Conduct preliminary research and analysis to support senior team members in business development activities.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience
- Experience in partnership management, business development, sales support, product, relationship management.
- Familiarity with the financial industry, specifically securities movements, fixed income securities, and deposit products.
- Strategic focus: strong candidates will exhibit an ability to proactively think “out of the box” and to creatively craft solutions to meet client needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to collaborate across teams and manage heavy client contact.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills; comfortable managing multiple tasks and adhering to daily time-sensitive deadlines.
- Experience coordinating projects or supporting cross-functional initiatives.
- Technical skills: thorough knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required. Knowledge of Microsoft Access is helpful, but not essential.
- Negotiating skills: experience with negotiating contracts.
- Required current US FINRA Registration: SIE, Series 7, and Series 63
- Must meet ALL US FINRA Registration requirements within 150 days of start date

$163,600.00 - $245,400.00
