Job Overview
The Business Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
Responsibilities:
- Gathering and documenting business requirements
- Developing individual project artifacts as necessary including Business Requirements Documentation (BRD’s), Functional Requirements Documentation (FRD’s), test planning and scenario documents for user acceptance testing (UAT), project plans as required for all key technical deliveries.
- Day-to-day management of individual project responsibilities including milestone setting, task and actions management, co-ordination and execution of plan within required timelines and to stakeholder quality expectations.
- Providing implementation / post-implementation project support
- Foster and maintain relationships with business stakeholders, support, testing and development team members
- Identify key project risks, whether stated or not, and manage to resolution or escalate accordingly
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Recommended Qualifications:
- 6-10 years experience
- must be extremely organized, motivated and a self-starter
- Ability to prioritise is key as is ability to juggle several tasks at once.
- Must work well under pressure whilst, enthusiastic, hard-working and positive
- Desire to improve processes
- Advanced working knowledge in the Equities IT space and exposure to Cash Prime Brokerage flows.
- Track record as a Business Analyst within the Financial Services/Investment Banking industry.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to facilitate discussions
- Ability to quickly grasp and understand new concepts / requirements and related product / functional knowledge
- Experience of working with Agile Methodologies and Tools.
- Team player and relationship management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
- Ability to learn/understand some technical implications of system design
- Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of the SDLC

- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

The Business Analyst for Desktop Analytics is a strategic professional responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions within the Enterprise Productivity and Efficiency (EPE) Desktop Analytics (DTA) program. This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring DTA's compliance with global regulatory frameworks, particularly focusing on data privacy across Citi's extensive global footprint. The successful candidate will contribute to DTA's evolution as Citi's essential intelligence layer, driving maximized employee productivity, optimized resource allocation, and continuous operational efficiency and resilience globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance & Data Privacy:
- Manage and oversee all regulations involved with the DTA product, specifically focusing on privacy regulations across Citi's 91 countries, including standards such as GDPR.
- Ensure firm-wide consistency in data usage and privacy impact assessment (PIA) approvals, actively working to streamline PIA processes.
- Develop and implement strategies for obtaining and managing individual consent in various countries, as outlined in the DTA strategy, collaborating with Country Heads, HR, and Privacy Legal teams.
- Address Data Management Concerns by supporting the implementation of robust governance, data accuracy, integrity, and consistency for DTA data.
- Ensure adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to data privacy, security, and compliance (CBDC, PIA).
- Controls Design & Implementation:
- Design, develop, and implement robust controls for the DTA product, with a particular emphasis on user access controls for sensitive data.
- Implement enhanced controls aligned with central DTA guidelines and business-led controls specific to DTA use cases.
- Identify key project risks related to regulatory compliance and data access, managing them to resolution or escalating as necessary.
- Business Requirements & Analysis:
- Gather and document comprehensive business requirements for DTA features, focusing on regulatory, privacy, and control aspects.
- Develop individual project artifacts as necessary, including Business Requirements Documentation (BRD’s), Functional Requirements Documentation (FRD’s), test plans, and scenarios for user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Analyze opportunities for enhanced controls and automated processes to reduce manual effort and processing risk, particularly in areas like Excel usage within DTA.
- Stakeholder Management & Project Execution:
- Manage day-to-day project responsibilities, including milestone setting, task and actions management, coordination, and execution within required timelines.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, support, testing, and development teams, ensuring collaborative efforts in DTA development and deployment.
- Provide implementation and post-implementation project support, ensuring seamless integration of new features and controls.
- Strategic Alignment:
- Contribute to DTA's strategic positioning by aligning initiatives with key enterprise objectives and fostering cross-functional collaboration, especially concerning robust governance and optimized operations.
- Support the DTA Center of Excellence (CoE) expansion and the enablement of self-service analytics, ensuring privacy-by-design principles are embedded.
