Job Overview

The Technology Senior Business Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex projects and foster communication between business leaders and IT

  • Consult with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards and recommends solutions

  • Support system change processes from requirements through implementation and provide input based on analysis of information

  • Consult with business clients to determine system functional specifications and provides user and operational support

  • Identify and communicate risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment

  • Act as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts and work as a team to achieve business objectives, performing other duties and functions as assigned

  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.

  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of Capital Market, Risk Management and regulatory impact including but not restricted - LCR, FR 2052a, RLAP, etc.

  • Proficiency in creating, clarifying, and updating Business requirement, Functional specification documents.

  • Excellent liaison, communication (verbal and written), conflict resolution, change management, document and report writing skills.

  • Provides expertise in area and a strong level of understanding of the principles of IT project management and delivery. Strong Understanding of the SDLC, familiarity with Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodology.

  • Strong understanding of liquidity risk management and reporting, enabling the individual to understand complex and interconnected business requirements so to play a role in the ongoing management & coordination of execution plans.

  • Demonstrable and comprehensive experience in stakeholder management involving stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Manage and collaborate with users to review User Acceptance Testing outcome and successfully obtain sign off.

  • Experience working in ETL Projects, with multiple upstream and downstream systems defining the mapping requirement for implementation.

  • Aptitude to understand technology architecture and work with various partners for configuring strategically aligned solutions.

  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint) with extensive experience using excel to manipulate and analyze large datasets.

  • Proficiency in data analysis techniques and tools, such as SQL, Tableau and Python.

  • Known-how of SQL is must to understand data mapping across source and target systems.

  • Understanding of data governance, reference data, and data capabilities needed for a robust data program in support of business objectives.

  • Working knowledge of Atlassian tools like JIRA, Confluence, and wiki.

  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks, changing priorities and monitor tight deadlines or unexpected requirement change.

  • Stays abreast of current industry trends and new technology through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars.

Must have skills:

  • SQL

  • MS Excel, Visio, Word- Advance

  • Tableau- Intermediate

  • Data Analysis

Nice to have skills:

  • Python

  • Big Data, Hadoop

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
