Job Overview
Overview:
The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organization establishes the foundational principles that guide the firm's risk-taking activities. This includes defining governance structures, setting requirements, and clarifying roles and responsibilities for critical risk management functions such as risk identification, stress testing, risk appetite and limits, and the management of strategic, climate-related, and concentration risks.
The ERM-owned Policy Document Team plays a vital role in ensuring robust risk governance by:
- Developing and maintaining policies, standards, procedures, and training materials owned by ERM.
- Providing expert advice on governance issues related to ERM programs.
- Managing policy breaches, dispensations, and waivers related to ERM-owned policy documents, ensuring consistent application and appropriate remediation.
Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Monitoring: Continuously monitor regulatory changes, emerging regulations, and Citi policy updates to ensure alignment and proactive adaptation.
- Policy Gap Analysis: Conduct thorough gap analyses of existing policies against current and upcoming regulatory requirements, identifying areas for enhancement and remediation.
- Risk Governance Documentation: Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive risk governance documentation, including policies, standards, and procedures. This involves socializing drafts with stakeholders, obtaining necessary approvals, and ensuring timely publication and communication.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner and collaborate effectively with colleagues across the first, second, and third lines of defense, fostering a strong risk culture and ensuring consistent application of policies.
- Policy Exception Management: Identify, track, and report policy breaches, dispensations, and waivers, driving these exceptions to closure through effective communication, escalation, and remediation.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in Risk Management or a Finance function within a bank, financial services consulting firm, or regulatory body.
- ERM Knowledge: Solid understanding of regulatory requirements associated with the following Enterprise Risk Management pillars: Risk Identification, Stress Testing, and Risk Appetite and Limits.
- Results Orientation: Proven ability to drive results, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Personal Attributes: Highly motivated with a strong attention to detail, team-oriented mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to assess complex issues, identify potential solutions, and make sound judgments based on available information.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex problems and policy interpretations through concise, clear, and persuasive messaging.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Word.
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree in finance, business, or a related technical discipline. Advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA, PMP) is preferred.
