Job Overview

We are seeking an AVP Tech Analyst / Developer to join our team, focusing on designing and building robust solutions for Compliance, Regulatory, and Reporting applications. This role requires a blend of advanced technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills within an Agile environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build technical solutions for Compliance, Regulatory, and Reporting applications, ensuring alignment with overall architectural blueprints.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of system flows to develop and enforce standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.

  • Serve as a primary developer utilizing Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Linux. This will be supplemented by strong technical knowledge of SQL, data management, and relational database design, including hands-on experience with Kafka and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Collaborate effectively with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration with user interfaces, including those built with Angular, understanding how best to expose APIs and data. 

  • Provide hands-on experience in the entire solution design and development lifecycle.

  • Resolve complex, high-impact problems by thoroughly evaluating business and system processes against industry standards.

  • Actively participate in the Agile Development Lifecycle, including component design, coding, unit testing, and debugging. Conduct and participate in code reviews and test case reviews, ensuring code quality, adherence to requirements, and best practices.

  • Design, code, test, document, and implement application release projects as part of the development team, ensuring robust and maintainable solutions.

  • Provide Level 3 production support, efficiently troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

  • Collaborate closely with Program Management and Quality Control teams to deliver high-quality software on agreed project schedules.

  • Proactively communicate risks, bottlenecks, problems, and concerns to the Development Project Manager.

  • Ensure full compliance with Citi's System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Information Security requirements.

  • Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives within the team.

  • Exhibit strong analytical skills for requirement gathering and understanding, effort estimation, and technical design.

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

  • Maintain comprehensive and clear technical documentation for all developed solutions and processes.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years+ of relevant experience in an application development or systems analysis role.

  • Extensive experience in programming of software applications, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and adjust quickly to changing circumstances.

  • Strong leadership capabilities and foundational project management skills.

  • Consistently demonstrates clear, concise, and articulate written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on technical documentation and stakeholder engagement.

  • Very strong technical experience in Core JAVA, J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices, and JPA.

  • Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and database design, with practical experience across various relational database platforms.

  • Solid experience with Kafka and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with Unix Scripting and job schedulers like Autosys.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Harness).

  • Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito).

  • Ability to work effectively on parallel development tracks concurrently.

  • Strong adherence to Agile methodologies and ability to promote best practices within the team.

  • Excellent root cause analysis skills, with the ability to quickly analyze and interpret code to resolve or escalate issues appropriately.
