Job Overview

The Project Manager role as part of established team of Program and Project managers covers a number cross functional horizontal regulatory and technology programs. The team is part of Finance and Risk Technology.

The role focuses on the adoption of core deliverables across predominantly Risk but also Finance and Data programmes within Techology. The role will oversee delivery / execution of the project work, in partnership with multiple teams, including Technology, Programme Governance, and Business team. Ensuring that the defined programme of work across multiple stakeholders and delivery teams, is delivered on time, and according to regulatory and audit expectations.

Key to the role is support of governance across our programs and ensuring compliance with Citi Program Management Council and other oversight groups. Focus will be to ensure strong control environment and appropriate business processes are fully adopted and relevant artefacts retained to evidence full adoption. Covering across both Consent Order and regular Book of Work activities.

Required is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires commercial awareness.

Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the management of complex Risk programs within Technology as part of Regulatory Risk and Key Business Initiatives.
  • Own project goals, planning and delivery leveraging expertise to inspire a sense of shared purpose within the project team, while driving business results.
  • Ability to monitor against milestones, managing multiple dependencies while also managing interactions with multiple governance and oversight functions.
  • Ensure project documentation and auditable artefacts are created and stored, as required by Citi programme management standards, also use best practice PMO methodology.
  • Prepares, maintains, and submits clear and concise activity/progress reports and time recording/management reports.
  • Assesses and manage project risk potentials and discover potential problems before they occur always in a proactive manner.
  • Apply knowledge of Investment banking and Finance processes to aid adoption of Business Requirements
  • Articulates problems, bring the right people together to solve problems and know when the problem has been properly addressed and closed.
  • Proactively follows escalation and change control processes.
  • Active and effective across full Software Development Lifecycle.

Experience:

  • Relevant project management experience, with Finance and Risk Exposure background  beneficial.
  • Understanding of Counterparty Credit Risk concepts a notable advantage including any of following, Risk exposure measures such as Potential Future Exposure, Margin/Collateral, Liquidity, Period of Risk and Settlement Risk, also Basel concepts and any other relevant Risk Regulations and measures including RWA, EAD.
  • Ability to develop project plans, manage individual deadlines and goals and track all work effectively.
  • Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics.
  • Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis.
  • Manage project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk.
  • Manage client expectations, anticipates operational and tactical risks and tracks them; clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate to immediate manager where required.
  • Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and end to end project management.
  • Use of MS Office applications, Jira and Confluence preferable
  • Prior knowledge and active use of Project Tracking System (PTS) is a significant advantage.
  • Keenness to adopt AI to improve our working processes both individually and across the wider team and group

  • Excellent verbal and written English.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a large global team.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Key grasp on relevant tooling including PTS and Jira

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
