Job Overview

The Chief Information Security Sourcing Category Lead is a critical senior-level role responsible for the strategic direction and execution of all procurement activities within the CISO domain. This individual will drive the purchase of software, hardware, and professional services essential for the CISO business line, focusing on optimizing value, managing risk, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing Leadership:
    • Develop, implement, and lead comprehensive sourcing strategies that align with both CISO and broader organizational goals.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop detailed sourcing plans and establish a reputation as a subject matter expert within sourcing and business units.
    • Drive category management excellence, applying preferred systems, tools, and techniques, and reporting on category trends and best practices.
  • Relationship Management:
    • Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with internal business partners, key strategic suppliers, and critical stakeholders across all management levels, including senior and executive leadership.
    • Coordinate sourcing activities with Regional Sourcing Leads globally, supporting regional strategy development to ensure seamless execution of global initiatives.
    • Build and nurture relationships with business unit stakeholders to expand procurement's influence, particularly within software and cybersecurity services.
  • Negotiation & Contract Management:
    • Negotiate market-leading contract and commercial terms for new product acquisitions and manage existing regional and global supplier contracts.
    • Focus on reducing franchise risk and achieving competitive commercial terms to minimize total cost of ownership across various business units.
    • Lead the negotiation and contracting process for product acquisition, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Cost Optimization & Risk Mitigation:
    • Identify and drive significant cost reductions, supplier consolidation opportunities, and improvements in service delivery and process efficiency.
    • Proactively manage and mitigate risks associated with supplier engagements, ensuring standardization across the enterprise.
    • Analyze business processes to identify opportunities through influencing supply and demand of services.
  • Subject Matter Expertise:
    • Serve as an end-to-end supply chain and sourcing Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing valuable market insights to supported business units.
    • Influence decisions regarding sourcing strategy and supplier selection through deep domain knowledge in software (cybersecurity experience is a plus), hardware, and related professional services.
  • Operational Excellence & Compliance:
    • Contribute to all administrative requirements, including approved supplier programs, supplier diversity initiatives, contract management systems, and procure-to-pay processes.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to company policy, and exercising sound ethical judgment.
    • Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency, safeguarding the firm's reputation and assets.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead and directly supervise a group of Sourcing Managers at a global level, being responsible for their performance.
    • Provide assistance and coordination to cross-functional teams such as Regional Sourcing managers and stakeholders from multiple business units in the global development and execution of software sourcing strategies.
    • Train and coach direct reporting team members, monitor work quality and quantity, and manage day-to-day staff issues, including resource management and allocation.
    • Oversee Requests for Proposal (RFPs), supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting processes, leading both regional and global sourcing initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and supply chain, specifically within software (cybersecurity experience is a plus) hardware, and related professional services.
  • Demonstrated success in consistently achieving significant savings goals and other key performance metrics.
  • Proven expertise in contract and vendor management.
  • Exceptional relationship management, influencing, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to thrive and contribute effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear, concise, and impactful written and verbal communication.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or University equivalent experience in a relevant field (eg: Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics).
  • Master’s degree preferred.  
  • CPM, PMP and/or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certification is highly preferred.
