Job Overview
The Business Analysis Group Manager is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Responsibilities:
The Business Analysis Group Manager is responsible for all activities related to the development of new products and/or features and functionality of products including developing business cases, requirements definition (BRDs), product enhancements innovation, feature and functionality definition based on market and industry research and trends and client needs. This role manages the end-to-end product development lifecycle and will also scope product releases, agreeing to and tracking business priorities, incorporating regulatory and compliance requirements and investment tracking
Creates a product vision aligned to business priorities and corresponding road-map to delivery
Follows market, industry and client trends to own field and adapts them for application Citi’s products and solutions platforms
Conceptualizes, plans, prioritizes, coordinates design and delivery of products or features to product release, and serves as product ambassador within user community
Works in close co-ordination with Sales, Technology, Business Managers and senior stakeholders to fulfill the delivery objectives
Manages and implements a wide variety of products and solutions to meet client needs
Has responsibility to deliver significant direct business results and authoritative advice regarding product development that necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy
Partners with senior business leaders and a widely distributed global user community to define and implement solutions
Creates clear and specific project plans, business and technical requirements documents for product execution
Has direct interaction with business managers, technology, and sales to understand their long term vision, discuss industry trends, and incorporate them into the product & solutions strategy
Focuses on controls and governance, including performing Need-to-Know based security and access reviews, Access Approvals, controls testing and documentation
Understand SFT & Securities data flows within CITI
Data analysis for derivatives & SFT products across systems for target state adoption and resolution of data gaps/issues
Lead assessment of end-to-end data flows for all data elements used in Regulatory Reports
Document current and target states data mapping and produce gap assessment
Coordinate with the business for identifying critical data elements, defining standards and quality expectations, and prioritize remediation of data issues
Identify appropriate strategic source for critical data elements
Design and Implement data governance controls including data quality rules and data reconciliation
Design systematic solution for elimination of manual processes/adjustments and remediation of tactical solutions
Prepare detailed requirement specifications containing calculations, data transformations and aggregation logic
Perform functional testing and data validations
Manage data solutions within markets data domain
Lead strategic migration initiatives
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience
Proven track record of successfully managing in a large and complex business
Intellectual curiosity, analytical and conceptual thinker
Proactively seeks and develops new opportunities
Thorough financial acumen and P&L management experience
Excellent analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills
Proven track record of bringing diverse groups and perspectives to work against a common goal
Self-motivated and able to dynamically determine priorities
Ability to maintain momentum and minimize client and employee attrition
Ability to establish and maintain senior client relationships and to work across multiple facets of Citi businesses
Process Management knowledge with a propensity for detail and comprehensiveness of content
Ability to collaborate and clearly communicate with senior members of an organization
Project Management skills with experience leading large cross functional initiatives
Proven track record as change agent, with ability to encourage and embrace innovative ideas and solutions
Self-aware with ability to adapt to various situations, rapidly assimilate and report on complex information while creating a future vision
Preferably Engineering Graduate with Post Graduation in Finance
Extensive experience in the capital markets business and processes
Deep understanding of Derivative products (i.e., Equities, FX, IRS, Commodities etc.) and SFT (Repo, Reverse Repo, Securities Lending and Borrowing)
Strong Data analysis skills using Excel, SQL, Python, Pyspark etc.
Experience with data management processes and tools and applications, including process mapping and lineage toolsets
Actively managed various aspects of data initiatives including analysis, planning, execution, and day-to-day production management
Ability to identify and solve problems throughout the product development process
Analytical thinking – ability to break down complex data structures and processes to identify issues and develop logical models that meet business needs.
Knowledge of structured/unstructured databases, data modeling, data management, rapid / iterative development methodologies and data governance tools
Understanding of data governance issues, policies, regulatory requirements, and industry information affecting the business environment
Demonstrated stakeholder management skills
Data visualization skills – can help in creating visual representation of data models and provide input to UX / UI team to help make it easier to communicate complex model relationships with stakeholders
Excellent communication skills – needs to be able to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirement and develop clear documentation
Excellent presentation skills, business and technical writing, and verbal communication skills to support decision-making and actions
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to recognize and comprehend complex data flow and designs.
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
