Job Overview
The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is a key role within Markets Technology, specifically supporting Prime Services and Prime Futures. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing application systems and programs that enable critical business processes. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with analytical skills to execute on complex initiatives, including regulatory and Consent Order tasks.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of new or enhanced application systems to meet evolving business needs within Prime Services and Prime Futures.
- Perform feasibility studies, cost and time estimates, and IT planning for strategic initiatives.
- Analyze and execute Consent Order-related tasks, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.
- Monitor and manage all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Provide technical guidance and operational support to business users, ensuring system stability and performance.
- Apply deep knowledge of application development to solve complex problems, evaluate business and system processes, and recommend improvements aligned with industry standards.
- Implement robust security measures and conduct post-implementation reviews to ensure system integrity.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technology teams to deliver advanced programming solutions and resolve technical issues.
- Serve as a mentor to junior analysts and contribute to defining best practices and operating standards.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for senior stakeholders, exercising independent judgment and autonomy in decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to Citi’s risk and compliance policies, applying sound ethical judgment and escalating issues transparently.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in application development and systems analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Java development and related frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical skills to interpret data, assess risk, and execute Consent Order tasks effectively.
- Working knowledge of consulting and project management methodologies.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Technical Skills
- Java
- SQL Server
- C#
- .NET Framework
- Experience with enterprise-level application development and integration.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in financial services technology, particularly within Markets or Prime Services.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance-driven initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
