Job Overview

Banking is seeking Full-Time Analysts to join the Investment Banking division in Milan, starting in 2026. The Investment Banking team provides advisory services to corporate clients regarding capital market fundraising and strategic support for financial transactions. Potential client engagements include, but are not limited to, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financial restructurings, as well as the underwriting and distribution of equity, debt, and derivative securities. As an Investment Banking Analyst, you will participate in a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the fundamental skills for the role and introduce you to Citi’s organizational culture. Regardless of your academic background, we are committed to providing the necessary training for your success.

Our commitment extends to providing thorough guidance. The Analyst program commences in July with an intensive six-week training period, after which you will be assigned to a team. Your professional development will continue through on-the-job training. By the third year of the program, opportunities for internal mobility will become available.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) professionals and contribute as a junior team member to specific client transactions, projects, or assignments within the Investment Banking team.

  • Take ownership of organizing and analysing complex financial data utilized in client proposals and strategic plans.

  • Prepare written recommendations, valuation materials, and statistical exhibits for pitch books and active deals.

  • Conduct economic and financial research.

  • Assess a company's financial performance in relation to broader industry and market trends.

  • Construct sophisticated financial models for valuation purposes.

  • Critically evaluate risk when making business decisions, demonstrating careful consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to company policies, exercising sound ethical judgment in personal and professional conduct, and transparently escalating, managing, and reporting control issues.

Qualification

  • Must hold or be on track to achieve an upper second-class honors degree (2:1) or equivalent at undergraduate level. For graduates from an Italian university, a grade of 99-105 or higher is required.

  • You are currently in your final year of university study or have already graduated with a degree in business administration, economics, or a related field.

  • Possess a strong interest in business and relevant prior work experience in investment banking.

  • Proficiency in both English and Italian is essential.

  • A dedication to personal and career growth, a strong eagerness to learn, and proven success in collaborative team settings.

  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to discovering innovative and creative solutions.

  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational abilities.

  • A strong desire to cultivate an in-depth understanding of the financial industry.

  • An unwavering commitment to integrity and ethical decision-making.
