Job Overview
As a Citi Private Bank (CPB) Deposit & Treasury Management Sales Specialist, you will be a pivotal member of our cohesive sales team owning and driving the deposit and treasury management sales business for the South Region. This includes developing a close and highly collaborative working relationship with the region’s Market Executive, Private Banker teams and other product partners throughout the region. Your primary mission will be to drive new business acquisition from prospective clients and deepen relationships with our existing client base through active business development, consultation and advice driven solutioning of liquidity and treasury management products. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of clients' Deposit & Treasury Management needs, enabling you to strategically position and deliver tailored solutions that optimize their business banking operations.
You will maintain continuous engagement with CPB Banker Teams and directly interface with clients in a sales capacity, demonstrating exceptional sales acumen and product knowledge. A high degree of professionalism and a deep understanding of general business banking, private banking & wealth management, treasury management tools, and deposit product solutions are essential for success in this role.
Objectives/Fundamental Responsibilities:
Driving Sales and Client Engagement:
- Attend and actively participate pertinent deposit, pricing and treasury management updates at Market Executive Sales Meetings
- Ensure ongoing travel to CPB offices within your designated coverage area to foster strong collaboration and client relationships.
- Provide expert deposit and treasury management product sales guidance to private banker teams, supporting the retention and generation of new banking depository and treasury management business from prospective private bank clients.
- Directly engage with key client stakeholders, including CFOs, CEOs, Controllers, Treasurers, and Accounting Staff.
- Employ a consultative sales approach to thoroughly understand and evaluate clients' business needs, recommending optimal solutions.
- Facilitate meaningful discussions with clients to address critical issues and propose integrated treasury management and depository solutions.
- Maintain a strong grasp of the liquidity and rate environment, effectively explaining its impact on bank balance sheets to clients.
Relationship Management and Sales Growth:
- Nurture and deepen existing private bank client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Lead and execute on all Strategic Business Development Initiatives.
- Conduct regular banker portfolio and client relationship reviews to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
- Prepare and present compelling treasury management competitor statement analyses and product proposals to showcase our value proposition.
- Proactively keep CPB offices and clients informed of new products, enhancements, and industry developments.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a robust working relationship with the overall banking deposits, pricing, and product management team, actively sharing ideas and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Experience & Education:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in treasury management, banking, and client-facing roles.
- Prior experience as an implementation manager, sales associate, or sales specialist within Private Banking / Wealth Management is a significant advantage.
- Bachelor of Arts/Science (B.A./B.S.) degree is required.
- An MBA is a plus.
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation or a willingness to pursue it is a plus.
Skills & Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of Treasury Management products, banking processes, and the client sales cycle.
- Demonstrated treasury management experience with diverse client segments, including Entrepreneurs, Financial Firms, Real Estate, Family Office, and Private Equity firms.
- Exceptional professionalism in all interactions.
- Strong ability to structure and position complex depository & pricing solutions.
- Superior written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven excellent consultative selling and negotiation abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and consistent follow-up skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Salesforce CRM, Tableau, internet applications, and pipeline reporting systems.
