Job Overview

Citi is actively seeking talented and ambitious Summer Internship Analysts to join its dynamic Investment Banking team in Madrid, starting in June 2026. The Investment Banking group provides essential advisory services to corporate clients, assisting them with capital market fundraising initiatives and offering strategic support for a wide array of financial transactions. As an intern, you may contribute to projects involving mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financial restructurings, as well as the underwriting and distribution of equity, debt, and derivative securities. No prior in-depth knowledge of these terms is required; our comprehensive internship program is specifically designed to enhance your understanding and equip you with the necessary skills. Regardless of your academic background, we are committed to providing the training and support essential for your success. We provide a foundational learning experience. The 10-week Summer Internship Analyst program is set to commence in June 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Diligently collect and meticulously analyse company-specific information to facilitate transaction execution, which includes conducting thorough industry research and organizing extensive financial data.

  • Perform in-depth analysis of financial data and develop robust financial models, encompassing company valuations, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, financing structures, and comparative analyses.

  • Generate and refine professional new business development presentations that effectively communicate complex financial concepts.

  • Effectively coordinate tasks and workflow with both internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless project progression.

  • Prepare all necessary internal documentation, including adherence to control and compliance regulations, to ensure operational integrity.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in your penultimate or final year of university studies.

  • Expected to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:1 (or equivalent) at the undergraduate level from any degree discipline.

  • For graduates of Spanish universities, a grade of 7 or above is required.

  • A genuine and demonstrable interest in business and finance.

  • A strong academic record, reflecting intellectual capability and dedication.

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory, encompassing strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
