The Global Domestic Instant Payments team is at the forefront of innovation in global payments, delivering cutting-edge solutions across our network spanning over 50 markets. We are dedicated to developing solutions that seamlessly align with clients' increasingly regional and global business models, anticipating the future of 24/7/365 instant payment capabilities. This pivotal role is focused on driving the strategic evolution of our Instant Payments product. While collaborating closely with our dedicated commercialization leads, this position will primarily influence the overarching product strategy, ensuring its resilience, compliance, and long-term viability. Citi's Instant Payments are already live in over 50 markets, reaching over 65 countries. As the SVP, Global Instant Payments Product Manager, you'll be a key part of the payments product team, leading the strategy and execution of the Instant Payments roadmap. You'll oversee development, ensure adherence to stringent product governance, risk, and control frameworks, and contribute to the strategic market rollout of new capabilities. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape strategic initiatives, identify core value-creation opportunities, and develop solutions that encourage global adoption of Instant Payments. You'll play a crucial role in bringing risk-compliant solutions to market, supporting our integrated go-to-market approach.

What you will do:

Your primary objective is to support and execute the global product strategy for Instant Payments, with a pronounced emphasis on innovation and emerging use cases. This involves shaping the development and strategic rollout of innovative instant payment capabilities, ensuring consistent functionality across regions while maintaining unwavering adherence to regulatory requirements and internal risk policies. You will work closely with our commercialization teams to ensure the product vision translates effectively into market success. The ultimate goal is to enable our clients to send and receive payments instantly and securely, meeting their complex treasury and commerce needs within a compliant and controlled environment.

You should possess deep payments expertise, a strong understanding of risk management and product governance principles, and the ability to translate strategic vision into actionable product initiatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Research client needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape to inform and shape the global Instant Payments product strategy, meticulously considering regulatory, risk, and control implications.
  • Understand and anticipate evolving client needs and regulatory changes to ensure our product capabilities and roadmap deliver continuous, commercially relevant innovation within established risk parameters and market demands.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and product scorecards for Citi's Global Instant Payment offering, with a strong focus on risk, control, and strategic growth metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with product development, technology, operations, legal, compliance, and risk teams to ensure seamless product development and adherence to governance frameworks.
  • Continuously improve product offerings based on performance data, market feedback, and robust risk assessments.
  • Work closely with our dedicated commercialization teams (including sales, marketing, and commercialization leads) to ensure product strategy effectively supports market needs and enables effective client discussions. Provide strategic product insights to aid their efforts.
  • Champion the adoption of best-in-class product governance models, leading training sessions and internal communications on new product releases, capabilities, roadmaps, schedules, and risk management best practices.
  • Work closely with Technology, Operations, Service, Compliance, Business Managers, Legal, and other stakeholders to achieve strategic product objectives, ensuring alignment with risk and control frameworks and fostering collaborative success.

What we'll need from you:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the payments ecosystem (Real-Time Payments/Instant Payments required), with a strong foundation strategy.
  • Ability to identify and articulate long-term product vision, translating complex concepts into clear strategic roadmaps.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends to inform strategic decisions. Intellectual curiosity and conceptual thinking skills are essential.
  • Ability to thrive and drive initiatives in a complex, multi-country, global environment.
  • Proven experience in product governance, risk management principles, and regulatory compliance within a global financial institution.
  • Proven experience building and managing strong relationships internally and externally, influencing and coordinating diverse stakeholders toward common strategic goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop strategic solutions and drive impactful results.
