Team/Role Overview:

The Middle Office Product Manager is a senior position within Fund Services, responsible for day-to-day product management for core products, setting strategy and providing direction within Middle Office.

The role requires a deep hands-on working knowledge of Middle Office within a Funds services business. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development of product plans, strategies, and tactics while coordinating product lines through product life cycles in coordination with the broader Product Management team.

What you’ll do:

This role will leverage broad Middle Office domain knowledge, deep experience influencing product, operations, design, and IT architecture change. Timely execution, seamless business and client change are extremely important to ensure Fund Services continues its growth path and expands its relationships with strategic clients.

  • Oversee day-to-day product management for core products (Trade Matching, Settlement and IBOR) such as product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies as well as help the team prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to achieve business results.
  • Oversee strategic roadmap, development, launch, and marketing to gain maximum benefit from each product within Middle Office.
  • Execute client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, pricing, targeting, channel strategies, and competitive differentiation to achieve preferred status as a partner to Citi clients.
  • Manage client and competitor market research, develop product innovation roadmap, and address fundamental trials of product commoditization to create an advanced set of solutions.
  • Oversee all aspects of program life cycle management including market demands, technology trends, and the competitive field.
  • Contribute to achievement of acquisition targets, product financial performance, revenue performance, and expense management goals as well as oversee identification and execution of opportunities and gaps business plans.
  • Develop and communicate a business plan to approach the marketplace, and coordinate and implement team procedures, client problem resolutions and client management.
  • Help drive innovation by working with external partners/alliances to develop products, manage vendor relationships, and prepare agreements.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

What we’ll need from you:

  • Extensive Middle Office industry experience ideally in a Funds Services Business.
  • A deep understanding of Middle Office functions such as Trade Matching, Settlement and IBOR.
  • Have previous experience working in Product roles.
  • Ideally have experience of platforms such as Charles River, Aladdin, BBG AIM, Simcorp.
  • Experience managing across multi-function and/or global business.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
