Discover your future at Citi

Working at Citi is far more than just a job. A career with us means joining a team of more than 230,000 dedicated people from around the globe. At Citi, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your career, give back to your community and make a real impact.

Job Overview

Citi is looking for an in-business risk professional who will have the responsibility for single name credit risk management, specifically within the Spread Products (SP) Single Name Portfolio. As a risk manager in In-Business Risk (IBR) within SP, you will be responsible for measuring, monitoring, and controlling credit risk for various single name financing strategies.

This is a first line of defence role, managing risk and monitoring credit exposure by evolving the risk framework and other risk governance items to ensure a proper control environment and strategic platform development for single name credit risk exposure.

You will support Spread Products and related businesses, with the opportunity to help with other credit products depending on the candidate. The Risk professional should have a deep working knowledge of institutional credit risk management and extensive experience across credit products (e.g., Bonds, Loans, Credit Default Swaps, Total Return Swaps, Credit-Linked Notes).

What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:

  • Analyse and monitor portfolio credit exposures, focusing on counterparty and reference entity risk for credit derivatives, ensuring proper measurement, control, and adherence to firm policies.

  • Perform regular credit risk reviews, including scenario stress testing and sensitivity analysis, to assess the adequacy of collateral and manage risks associated with complex structured transactions.

  • Formulate and communicate views on risk appetite, actively challenging business stakeholders' risk "asks" to maintain appropriate risk levels.

  • Collaborate closely with Credit, Execution, and Onboarding teams to facilitate limit approvals, and partner with Market Risk and Independent Credit Risk to develop and utilize advanced models for accurate exposure measurement (e.g., PD, LGD, EAD).

  • Prioritize and drive credit risk management product development projects with IT and product development teams.

  • Produce and communicate clear, concise credit risk reports to senior management and key stakeholders across the firm, highlighting significant exposures and control effectiveness.

What we will need from you:

  • Demonstrated experience working with global teams and strong product knowledge.

  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and an aptitude for tackling complex credit risk issues through quantitative modelling.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Trading, Credit Risk, Operations, Compliance) while also challenging the status quo for process improvement.

  • Proven ability to balance risk and reward to facilitate business growth while effectively managing credit risk from derivatives.

  • Acumen in scenario stress testing and instrument modelling specific to corporate and structured credit .

This role will appeal to those who enjoy working with internal stakeholders and have an analytical and risk-focused view of the credit products. An individual with extensive experience working in a role such as credit risk or market risk with relevant credit derivatives product experience who is looking to find a new and challenging opportunity would likely find this role interesting.

What we will provide you:

By joining Citi London, you will not only be part of a business casual workplace with a hybrid working model (up to 2 days working at home per week), but also receive a competitive base salary (which is annually reviewed), and enjoy a whole host of additional benefits such as:

  • 27 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)

  • A discretionary annual performance related bonus

  • Private Medical Care & Life Insurance

  • Employee Assistance Program

  • Pension Plan

  • Special discounts for employees, family, and friends

  • Access to an array of learning and development resources

Alongside these benefits Citi is committed to ensuring our workplace is where everyone feels comfortable coming to work as their whole self, every day. We want the best talent around the world to be energized to join us, motivated to stay, and empowered to thrive.
