Job Overview
Team/Role Overview:
Securities Finance encompasses the Agency Securities Lending (ASL), Directed Agent Investment Services (DAIS), and Collateral Management products within Investor Services. This set of products complements Citi’s leading Custody and Fund Services offerings to enhance portfolio returns for Asset Managers & Asset Owners globally through intrinsic value securities lending, liquidity management, and collateral optimization. Citi's key strengths include unsurpassed global branch network, robust risk management, real-time controls, product innovation, dynamic reporting, and market thought leadership.
What you’ll do:
- As Head of Securities Finance, lead the franchise globally, delivering on existing business commitments, developing new business and driving strategic change
- Be accountable for all aspects of the business across financial performance, client outcomes, competitive performance, capital returns, data governance and analytics, controls, compliance and regulatory management, operations, technology, human resources and market presence.
- Management of a global team across multiple international locations.
- Articulate Citi's strategy for the Securities Finance products and the business’ positioning to the firm’s Senior Management. This includes providing ongoing updates to Senior Management along with partnering Global Product Heads, 2LOD Compliance and Risk Partners, 3LOD Audit Partners, and FP&A partners related to all aspects of the business line including, but not limited to, performance, commercial opportunities, growth, client, controls and regulatory management, operations, technology, financial, and human resources related matters.
- Define and execute the business’ technology investment agenda, including modernization of existing, identification of relevant new technology and tools, internal and external partnerships and vendor management
- Develop strategic vision for future management of the business line to include expanded commercial opportunities, re-engineering of work-streams, client communication, and risk and control capabilities.
- The position requires substantial interaction and collaboration with Operations, Technology and other functional business partners.
What we’ll need from you:
- Significant C-suite level executive experience and executive presence managing a global business line in Securities Finance.
- Proven expertise in Securities Lending and Collateral product
- Proven leadership of scale, geographically diverse Securities Financing businesses on a complete front-to-back basis
- Proven risk, control and compliance management experience
- Proven track record of new business expansion opportunities and client relationship management across Securities Finance products
- Proven ability to manage complex technology production and transformation projects
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organisation
- Ability to balance strategic priorities with tactical actions
- Proven track record and accountability in making quick decisions that have immediate and/or long-term impacts on business performance and financials
- Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally and externally, often at a senior level. External communication/negotiation will be necessary
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
- MBA and/or CFA highly desirable
- Deep understanding of Data science, Data tools and working knowledge of AI tools
