Job Overview

We are seeking an accomplished and highly strategic Global Head of GCS. This critical leadership role will be responsible for defining and executing the comprehensive strategy for GCS worldwide and driving business development initiatives for GCS.  The role demands an acute understanding of complex cross-border client account coverage and facilitation, alongside proactive involvement in strategic marketing and media engagement to promote GCS. The successful candidate will also be crucial in fostering deep partnerships with geographic Private Bank (CPB) heads and management to strategically grow GCS, manage existing teams, and expand the client base.

This is an individual contributor position demanding exceptional autonomy, acute strategic insight, a proven ability to originate and deepen Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) relationships, and a strong capacity to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse internal teams and geographic regions. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping the global client experience, expanding our program's reach, and positioning the firm as a leader across all facets of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Client Services (GCS) Strategy & Business Development:

  • Lead the global strategic direction and provide comprehensive oversight for the Global Client Service (GCS) Program, including driving significant business development efforts.
  • Collaborate with regional private bank teams and geographic CPB heads and management to ensure consistent application of GCS strategy and best practices across all global locations, balancing global objectives with regional execution. This includes an in-depth understanding of and active facilitation for complicated cross-border client account coverage, ensuring the GCS program effectively facilitates the opening of accounts in each region where clients require wealth management for personal, family or business purposes, outside of their original banking region.
  • Apply a ‘OneCiti’ perspective to identify and capitalize on opportunities for GCS business growth, process optimization, and strategic alignment, thereby strengthening the global client experience and expanding program reach.

Client Engagement & Advisory:

  • Originate, cultivate, and deepen relationships with Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) individuals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on complex client needs, identifying opportunities for integrated solutions leveraging all firm capabilities.
  • Proactively identify emerging trends, market shifts, and regulatory changes impacting family offices, translating these insights into actionable strategies and solutions.

Marketing, Thought Leadership & GCS Promotion:

  • Partner closely with internal marketing and product teams to develop bespoke thought leadership content, white papers, and presentations tailored to the unique interests and challenges of global clients and family offices, with a specific focus on promoting and "selling" the GCS offering.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, thought leadership events, and exclusive gatherings to enhance brand visibility and expand professional networks, actively seeking opportunities for increased marketing and media engagement around GCS.
  • Drive initiatives to position the firm as a leading authority and preferred partner for global clients and family offices through strategic content dissemination, speaking engagements, and media opportunities, including targeted client profiling and pipeline building for GCS.
  • Gather market intelligence and client feedback to inform the development of new products, services, and marketing collateral relevant to these client segments.

Internal Collaboration, Influence & Team Management:

  • Serve as a key internal resource and subject matter expert on global clients and family office dynamics, needs, market opportunities, and strategies, providing guidance to junior colleagues and other teams.
  • Partner effectively with cross-functional teams, including product specialists, investment professionals, legal, compliance, and operations, to ensure seamless client service, solution delivery, and robust risk and controls.
  • Work in close partnership with geographic CPB heads and management to strategically grow GCS, manage existing GCS teams, and oversee the client base.
  • Champion best practices in client engagement, business development, and relationship management across the firm.
  • Influence internal stakeholders to align resources and capabilities with family office and global client service strategic priorities, advocating effectively for client needs and market opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in client coverage, business development, or relationship management within financial services, with a significant focus on Global UHNW clients.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully originating, developing, and expanding substantial client relationships and consistently exceeding revenue targets.
  • Extensive knowledge of investment products, wealth management solutions, private markets, and capital markets relevant to sophisticated clients.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing global strategies with strong global oversight capabilities.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage Global UHNW clients
  • Proven ability to operate independently, strategically, and with a high degree of autonomy in a senior individual contributor capacity.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial information and market trends.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree/professional designation (e.g., CFA, CFP) preferred.

Personal Attributes:

  • Gravitas & Credibility: Commands respect and trust through extensive experience, expertise, and a composed demeanor.
  • Strategic Vision: Foresees market trends and client needs, translating them into proactive business development initiatives and global program enhancements.
  • Exceptional Networker: Possesses a wide and deep professional network within the client ecosystem and internally within the organization.
  • Proactive & Self-Motivated: Drives initiatives forward with minimal supervision, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and a sales-oriented mindset for GCS.
  • Collaborative Influencer: Builds strong internal partnerships and influences outcomes without direct authority, particularly across diverse global teams and with CPB management.
  • Discreet & Trustworthy: Handles sensitive client information with the utmost confidentiality and integrity.
