Within this dynamic environment, the Markets Quantitative Analysis team plays a critical role, leveraging advanced quantitative methods and technology to develop sophisticated models, tools, and frameworks that drive strategic decisions and enhance performance across our trading businesses.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Global Head of Equities Quantitative Analysis to lead a high-performing team of quantitative professionals. This Managing Director level, leadership opportunity offers a chance to shape the quantitative strategy for Citi's expansive equities business, encompassing Derivatives, Prime and Cash groups. The successful candidate will be instrumental in translating complex quantitative research into tangible business impact, fostering innovation, and collaborating with senior leadership to implement solutions that enhance revenue, efficiency, and robust risk management practices. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a global team and contribute significantly to a leading financial institution.
Primary Responsibilities of the role
• Lead and strategically direct a global team of quantitative analysts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality models, tools, and frameworks that support the entire equities business.
• Partner closely with senior management, trading desks, technology, and risk management to identify key quantitative initiatives and translate business needs into actionable analytical solutions.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of quantitative projects, from conceptualization and research to model validation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring, ensuring robust methodology and adherence to best practices.
• Cultivate a culture of innovation, rigorous analytical thinking, and continuous learning within the global quantitative team, attracting and retaining top-tier talent.
• Empower the team to drive the development and implementation of advanced quantitative strategies for Derivatives, Prime and Cash teams, optimizing trading performance and risk management.
• Represent the Equities Quantitative Analysis function in various internal and external forums, articulating complex quantitative concepts to diverse stakeholders and contributing to industry dialogue.
What we need from you
• Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in quantitative analysis within a leading financial institution, with a significant focus on equities markets, including Derivatives, Prime and Cash.
• Proven leadership experience, managing and mentoring large, geographically dispersed teams of quantitative analysts and developers.
• Deep understanding of financial markets, quantitative finance principles, stochastic calculus, statistical modelling, and machine learning techniques etc.
• Exceptional programming skills in languages such as C++, Python or Java, coupled with experience in developing and deploying large-scale quantitative systems and analytical tools.
• Advanced degree (PhD or Master's) in a quantitative field such as Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex quantitative concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, and to effectively influence senior stakeholders.
