As a VP Euro-commercial Paper Trader in London, you will play a pivotal role within Citi's highly active Fixed Income trading desk. This position offers a unique opportunity to manage and grow a significant trading book, leveraging your expertise in short-term debt instruments. You will be instrumental in market making, managing risk, and identifying profitable trading strategies within the Euro-commercial Paper market, contributing directly to the success of our global markets franchise.
Primary Responsibilities of the role
- Manage a Euro-commercial Paper trading book, including market making, pricing, and execution of trades.
- Develop and implement proprietary trading strategies for Euro-commercial Paper, optimizing risk-adjusted returns.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trading opportunities and manage market exposures effectively.
- Actively engage with institutional clients, sales teams, and other internal stakeholders to facilitate client flows and deepen market penetration.
- Ensure rigorous adherence to all internal risk limits, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of trading systems, models, and processes.
What we need from you
- Proven experience as a Euro-commercial Paper Trader, ideally at a tier-one investment bank, with a demonstrable track record of profitability.
- Strong understanding of short-term debt markets, money market instruments, and fixed income derivatives.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data and identify trading opportunities.
- Solid risk management capabilities, including familiarity with various risk metrics and control frameworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with sales, research, and other trading desks.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; Master's degree or CFA is a plus.
