Job Purpose:

We are seeking an Equities Business Manager, VP to provide day-to-day support to the global Equity Business Execution lead (COO). The role will aid in the Supporting of the Global Head of Equities and the Exco in strategic and regulatory initiatives. It will work with the Equity Strategy team in delivering high quality content, articulating the goals and strategic direction of the division’s performance.  The role will involve interfacing with key senior stakeholders and internal clients across the organization. It will also involve preparing materials for the CEO, CFO and Global Head of Markets for regular updates on the business focus areas and key initiatives.

The candidate will be expected to co-ordinate and attend regular meetings and reviews (MBR’s, Finance, Expense, Supervisory and Control) presenting and reviewing key metrics with the management teams. The Candidate must be able to take a hands-on approach, working without close supervision, contribute to the wider Equity COO team and build strong working relationships with the COO team in EMEA, APAC and NAM.

The candidate will be responsible for creation and the coordination for key presentations for the global Equity business. This requires the candidate to be highly analytical and be able to work under pressure to produce high quality presentations. The candidate will need to be able to perform deep analysis on anything from financials, dissecting the latest regulatory requirements to strategic competitive analysis. The output needs to be of a very high standard as the materials will be used by senior Citi management and external regulators therefore a high level of proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel is required.  The role requires an experienced professional who is comfortable with interfacing with the front office and support areas to produce the necessary management materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production of Key Equity Presentations: Interface with all stakeholders in order to produce monthly business reviews, strategy packs, business updates and regulatory packs.
  • Interface with senior COO, Finance and business heads: Direct liaison and support for the global Equity Execution Lead (COO).
  • Reporting, Analysis and Strategy: Review of financials (revenues, costs, balance sheet, funding etc.) & associated expense management. Preparation of internal & external business review strategy and analysis.

  • Develop a detailed understanding of the business, its products and processes and how it operates within a large organisation.
  • Develop a strong network of contacts across Citigroup and build effective prioritisation skills as this role entails dealing with multiple conflicting priorities in a time pressure environment.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • An experienced person who has supported senior management in a similar capacity or function for a minimum of 2 years, required. Experience either in a large Bank covering Markets (ideally Equities) or a consulting firm.
  • Good knowledge of Markets processes and systems either from previous Business Management role or as part of one of the support functions, required.
  • The role requires an experienced professional who is comfortable with interfacing with the front office and support areas to produce the necessary management materials.
  • Ability to condense large data sets into digestible forms for senior stakeholders to review and understand quickly the direction of the business performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand implications of complex regulations on the business operating model.
  • A good understanding of financial information and a keen eye for detail in preparing financial data for management review.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to present complex information simply and professionally.
  • Excellent Excel skills capability with the ability to statistical analyse data. Must be professional in PowerPoint with ability to create professional presentations to the standard that would be expected by senior management and external regulators.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and master new concepts / requirements and present these to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships across functional and geographical lines.
  • Professional outlook with the ability to use initiative, manage deadlines, coordinate multiple tasks and work to deadlines and targets.
  • Strong analytical / business evaluation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong initiative and creativity - ability to facilitate discussion, present alternatives and constructive new ideas.
  • Preferably Degree educated; however, exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
