Equities Technology at Citi is undertaking a bold, multi‑year transformation to build a best‑in‑class global platform across execution, prime, clearing and cross‑product margining. We are re‑engineering our technology estate to achieve world‑leading performance and resiliency, enabling new capabilities in advanced execution, global market connectivity, and modernised post‑trade, clearing and margin processes. Our ambition is to deliver a seamlessly integrated, highly automated platform that drives outstanding client outcomes and accelerates growth across our global franchise. As part of the team, you’ll collaborate closely with high‑calibre engineers and deeply engaged business and product partners - working together to define and deliver the next generation of Equities technology at Citi.

Role Overview/What will you do:

Citi Equities Technology is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Algo Team Lead to join our EMEA Equities Electronic Trading Engines team. This leadership role is crucial to the development and maintenance of Citi's cutting-edge, low-latency execution platform in the EMEA region.  

In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of the next generation of this critical platform. This involves collaborating closely with a talented team of developers and working with product development, other technology teams, production support, and quality assurance. A strong understanding of and alignment with the global strategy is essential for success. 

• The successful candidate will work with teams across Equities Trading Technology implement solutions that benefit the business
• Partner with traders, quantitative researchers, and clients on product development. 
• Build common solutions for trading platform monitoring, trade reconciliation, and application recovery. 
• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. 
• Design, develop, and support the high-performance electronic execution platform. 
• Partner with traders, quantitative researchers, and clients on product development. 
• Continuously maintain and improve testing frameworks, development tools, and environments. 
• Envision, design, and implement test cases for trading functions. 
• Contribute to Agile and Continuous Integration processes. 
• Build common solutions for trading platform monitoring, trade reconciliation, and application recovery.
• Drive the design and development of system architecture, work with end-users of the systems, and enhance the quality of deliverables Ensure staff follows Citi documented policy and procedures as well as maintain desktop procedures and supporting documentation for filings on a current basis and in comprehensive manner
• Contribute to defining and implementing best practices and processes for the department and ensure transparency and consistency across teams 

Key Skills and Experience required

• Hands on technical experience of Equities Algo trading systems
• Extensive experience with strong technical knowledge and expertise in Java, C# 
• Proven experience developing automated trading platforms. 
• Strong understanding of automated testing techniques. 
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration processes. 
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals, and meet deadlines. 
• Excellent communication skills with a demonstrable ability to present and grasp complex concepts in a multicultural environment

Any Beneficial / Nice to have skills and experience:

• Python knowledge is a plus.
