We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Delta One Trading Assistant to join our dynamic Equities trading desk. This critical role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the trading environment, performing essential operational functions that directly enable the desk's efficiency and risk management. As regulatory and business demands evolve, the Trading Assistant plays a vital part in ensuring seamless trade execution, accurate data management, and operational excellence, directly contributing to the desk's ability to handle increased volume and complexity, ultimately driving higher revenues and reducing operational risk.
What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:
Provide direct operational support to the Delta One trading desk, including trade capture and processing for various Delta One products such as equity swaps, ETFs, and futures.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of trades into risk systems and facilitate client allocation.
Perform reconciliation of trading positions, P&L estimates, and resolve any discrepancies in partnership with middle office and product control teams.
Liaise extensively with internal and external stakeholders including sales, middle office, back office, product control, and technology to ensure smooth trade lifecycle management and issue resolution.
Monitor and manage intraday and end-of-day exposures, ensuring all positions are within limits and appropriately reflected.
Assist with technology projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing trading platforms, improving risk management tools, and streamlining operational workflows.
Contribute to maintaining a strong control environment by identifying and escalating potential risks and supporting continuous process improvement.
Support new client onboarding processes, particularly for the Prime Swap platform.
What we will need from you:
Experience in a related financial operations, middle office, or trading support role, preferably within an equities or derivatives context.
Demonstrated understanding of financial products, particularly Delta One instruments (e.g., equity swaps, ETFs, futures), and their lifecycle management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, with a strong aptitude for data management and analysis; VBA or other programming/scripting ability (e.g., Python, SQL) is highly desirable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with traders and various internal groups in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic trading environment
What we will provide you:
By joining Citi London, you will not only be part of a business casual workplace with a hybrid working model (up to 2 days working at home per week), but also receive a competitive base salary (which is annually reviewed), and enjoy a whole host of additional benefits such as:
