We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Hi-Touch Sales Trader  (Internal Job Title: Sales Trader - C11)based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  Being part of our team means that we’ll provide you with the resources to meet your unique needs, empower you to make healthy decision and manage your financial well-being to help plan for your future.  For instance:

The Sales Trader is an intermediate-level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The Analyst Sales Trader also serves as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective of this role is to act as strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage client relationships  to maximize dealing and business flow opportunities across equity product lines and  to cross sell Citi services and products

  • Ability to provide advice on trading strategies to the client given varying market circumstances, as well as to advise on matching liquidity while minimizing market impact

  • Pro-actively source for liquidity in the market in order match existing order book

  • Be familiar with individual clients in order to provide the appropriate services and advise suitable actions for its profile

  • Skilled in dealing and executing high touch equity trades and reading the market in order to provide best execution prices under best business practices

  • Work with Sales and Research to formulate key talking points for client engagement, as well as provide a feedback loop to internal team members

  • Work on ad-hoc projects to expand offerings to institutional clients

  • To identify and develop new client relationships

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in the equity markets in dealing/ sales trading  roles with strong client relationships

  • Possess a good understanding of institutional client benchmarks and requirements

  • Possess a good knowledge of the financial markets, Bursa rules and regulations, and Malaysia's macro and corporate fundamentals

  • CMSRL license holder

  • Experienced in dealing and execution, and be familiar with tools such as Algorithms and various dealing strategies (VWAP, TWAP, etc.)

    Good communicator , strong interpersonal skills to work in a team environment, and possess highest levels of integrity

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
