Team/Role Overview

The Operations Regulatory Scrutiny Desk Specialist is an intermediate level role responsible for executing complex transactions and participating in complex processes in coordination with the Transaction Services team. The overall objective is to act as a subject matter expert while processing all regular transfers, payments, trade transactions, and wholesale card activity.

What you’ll do

• Serve as the subject matter expert on all changing foreign exchange regulations
• Proactively advise clients on new and evolving FX regulatory requirements, ensuring their understanding and compliance.
• Translate complex regulatory changes into clear, concise, and client-friendly communications and guidance.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, assisting them in navigating the intricacies of FX compliance on the changing regulation and requirements
• Manage direct engagement with regulators on various matters, including obtaining necessary FX approvals for clients and the firm.
• Act as the bridge between internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth communication and compliance processes.
• Oversee and manage responses to regulatory inquiries and examinations related to foreign exchange.
• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive Foreign Exchange Manuals and other guidance documents for clients.
• Ensure all guidance materials are current, accurate, and reflect the latest regulatory updates and best practices.
• Appropriately assess regulatory risk when making business decisions, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets.
• Apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct, and business practices.
• Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency to relevant stakeholders.
• Provide training and informal guidance to internal teams on FX regulatory matters to foster a culture of compliance and to the client

What we’ll need from you

• In-depth knowledge of global and local foreign exchange regulations for different nature of payments
• Proven ability to interpret complex regulatory text and translate it into practical guidance.
• Exceptional client relationship management and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and persuade.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address unique and complicated regulatory scenarios.
• Excellent written communication & spoken skills, with experience in developing policy documents, manuals, and managing clients
• Demonstrated ability to manage engagements with regulatory bodies effectively.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards is a plus and Collaborate with internal departments managing regulator , client and internal stakeholders
• Previous relevant experience preferred
• Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
