Overview of the Role:

The Head of Estate Management is a strategic professional who oversees the technological infrastructure of an estate, ensuring it aligns with business needs and supports operational efficiency. This role requires strategic planning, leadership of technical teams, and a strong understanding of both IT and estate management principles.

There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the technology organization.

Responsibilities: 

• Oversees a team of Infrastructure Analysts and Project Managers, ensuring effective management and coordination of efforts to address various technological concerns within the estate.
• Collaborates closely with Application Teams, Solution Architects and Infrastructure to understand the technology infrastructure requirements based on the Book of Work. 
• Proactively monitors and manages costs globally based on all applications’ components including software licenses suggesting alternatives in partnership with Solution Architecture to be effective custodians of on-prem and cloud infrastructure 
• Collaborates with Application Teams, Production Support, Risk Control, CISO and other stakeholders to identify and remediate Technology Risks globally 
• Works with Solution Architects and Engineering Managers to forecast future needs and plan and execute infrastructure projects to ensure availability of solutions.  
• Reviews and monitor overall capacity planning based on current usage and future needs. 
• Actively engages with Application Team on strategic initiatives related to Engineering Excellent, strategic tooling and capabilities.

Qualifications: 

• 15+ years relevant experience  
• Experience in many different types of infrastructure options to deploy on premise. 
• Relevant managerial experience in creating business cases & technology evaluation 
• Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities in a complex environment 
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication 
• Ability to create and maintain effective partnerships with multiple stakeholders 
• Ability to develop working relationships, guiding and influencing others with developed communication and diplomacy skills 
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines 
• Self-starter with ability to take the initiative and master new tasks quickly 
• Methodical with keen attention to detail
