Job Overview
The Senior Transaction & Relationship Manager is a seasoned strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. The overall objective of this role is to work with clients to implement and maintain new and existing capital markets transactions pertaining to debt, structured capital, project finance and specialized agency. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and external clients and counterparties. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables.
This position is responsible for the management and administration of certain capital markets transactions covering multiple structured finance, structured credit, specialized agency, project finance and debt products. Must possess strong client service and problem solving skills, ability to independently manage portfolio of relationships, negotiate and onboard new business, acts as primary contact for existing client relationships, assist sales with new business initiatives and participate in client meetings and lead special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Understand clients’ key business needs and work with internal partners to deliver solutions, adding value for clients and cross-selling Citi products
- Build and maintain client relationships, as a central point of contact for key issues impacting client satisfaction and take ownership for client issues
- Become an expert on the customer’s operating business to identify potential new business opportunities, monitor client satisfaction
- Perform regular service reviews, coordinate internal resources, develop actions plans to address issues/deliver solutions and hold face-to-face client meetings
- Lead strong governance and controls
- Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
- Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation
- Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Assist in training and mentoring of less experienced personnel
- Assist TRM Group Manager and/or Team Lead in the supervision and day-to-day operations of staff
- Responsible for day to day management and support of debt and structured capital transactions, Project Finance and Specialized Agency.
- Lead special projects and assist Group Manager in executing against strategy initiatives
- Partner with Sales and Product partners to support client relationships and cultivate new business.
- Assist the client lifecycle strategy from acquisition through early client engagement implementation and maintenance of transactions
- Review and oversee day-to-day transaction activity
- Address and resolve inquiries from both internal and external Agency & Trust clients in connection with transactions,
- Review and approve activity on deal management system
- Coordinate with Operations for transaction set-up, activity and reporting
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Proven analytical and organizational skills
- Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Consistently demonstrates ability to lead people
- Demonstrated experience in deal implementation and management
- Demonstrated knowledge of Corporate Trust
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex Corporate Trust legal documents.
- Ability to manage and meet a diverse set of internal and external demands.
- Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Demonstrated problem-solving, management, influencing and decision-making skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$130,880.00 - $196,320.00
