This role is published for the Payments Head Turkiye Israel Kazakhstan (TIK) at a Director level. In this role we are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated leader who has proven ability to inspire & lead teams and partner & collaborate effectively to manage through change and drive growth.  

This role is responsible for leading the Services Payments product line covering TIK, based out of Istanbul and Heading the Turkiye Payments business. It is responsible for the successful deployment and execution of the global and MEA cluster Payments strategy and ensuring alignment with the country Services and Payments priorities to sustain innovation and growth of payment fees, across L2 and L2+L4 fee revenues. This role is also responsible for day-to-day management of Payments delivery, capabilities, client experience and risk management across these geographies. Additional responsibilities include support of the technology development effort including completeness of requirements. This role covers directly the leadership of the Payments product teams in the covered countries. The role is a senior management level position responsible for managing a broad range of Product Management employees, setting strategy and providing direction, leadership and budgetary management, etc. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development of product plans, strategies, and tactics while coordinating product lines through product life-cycles in coordination with the broader Product Management team.

This role is also a senior lead and contact for Citi's key clients. The incumbent will be responsible for taking a leadership role in the partnership with Sales and FX (Markets), in driving the pipeline, wins, ramp and pricing. They will have a key role on the Services TIK Leadership team.

The Payments Head TIK, Director, is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate Internally and with clients at a senior and strategic level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy, Business and Client

  • Developing, implementing, and executing TIK Payments priorities and plans that are aligned with global strategy and MEA cluster priorities. Drive identification of growth opportunities, drive growth and wallet share capture in partnership with Sales.
  • Day-to-day management of the Payments business including ownership of the P&L, strategy, execution, efficient resource allocation and talent recruitment, as well as development.
  • Responsibility for client experience and resolving issues working with MEA cluster and global partners and feeding back into product / Services wide strategic programs.
  • Ensure deep understanding of market and competitive landscape as a key input into strategy and investments.
  • Developing the investment case across TIK ensuring alignment with strategic objectives across Payments and the network – across client solutions for revenue growth & innovation, operational efficiency, risk reduction, client experience and getting to target state.
  • Developing a strong client -centric orientation through consistent and high-quality client engagement with key clients.
  • Work on a business strategy forward looking view on competitive gaps, to be addressed, through technology as well as fintech partnerships to ensure that Citi is a leader in Payment offering in TIK markets for all GNB/Banking and CCB clients
  • Should have a key focus on client revenues, revenue growth initiatives related to fee and others. Should be the go to senior contact for clients for all key strategic Payment related discussions

People

  • Recruiting, retaining, and training & developing talent in the organization from time to time
  • Working with the TIK Payments team to ensure high levels of performance, motivation, Voice of Employee scores on a consistent growth basis

Risk Management & Governance

  • Ensuring focus on Risk, documentation and Compliance, including Product Approval Programs, NAC and Sufficient Assurance Internal Audits for the TIK sub cluster
  • Ensure compliance with overall product management with appropriate controls including MCA completeness
  • Ensuring that the business governance framework is effective and complete, including escalation protocol to both business, TIK management, as well as the 2nd line of defense;
  • Ensuring visibility and interface with key regulators from time to time as well as adopting an advocacy role to ensure that the Regulatory engagement is ongoing and continuous for Regulators to also understand Citi Services/Payments overall global strategy
  • Focus on all risk items with key focus on processing risk, ops resiliency, regulatory risk. Lead to deliver outcomes on ops risk reduction and elimination / risk reduction in manual / bespoke processes by thorough understanding of the ops processes, and working with them to improve the same

Value Proposition

  • Evaluating both organic and inorganic opportunities of growth including growth through Fintech partnerships
  • Developing a response to the increasing digitization of the industry in TIK
  • Ensuring the on-going and consistent transfer of expertise; sharing best practices across regions and geographies.
  • Ensuring visibility in the marketplace and advancing relevance, advice, insights and solutions to the client-base.

Key Stakeholders

  • Partnering with and taking a leadership role as a member of the Services TIK management team as well as the Services Turkiye Management team
  • Partnering with and taking a leadership role with TIK markets team to push forward the FXLM agenda
  • Working closely with other relevant stakeholders including Banking, GNB, CCB, (amongst others) and coordinating with the country and sub cluster teams. Ensuring priorities are aligned and executed together
  • Being a senior lead and contact for Citi's key clients in the TIK cluster and Türkiye
  • Senior engagement on critical RFPs from a product engagement, thought leadership perspective
  • Collaborate closely with PDS partners for delivery of effective Payment solutions

Communications

  • The Payments Services Head is required to inform other parts of Citi franchise especially in countries as well as MEA cluster seniors about developments in the business, regulation, compliance issues or policy implementation. This is through communication in regular meetings and committees.

Qualifications:

  • Ideally 15+ years of experience, including 10 years' managerial experience
  • Knowledge of geographical industry players and ecosystem, as well as industry networks preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, recognized as a strong team leader
  • Solid knowledge of regulations, regulatory & market practices and bank operations
  • Recognized execution and result oriented skills
  • Entrepreneurial approach, strong client relationship skills
  • Innovation oriented with strong track record of executing game changing solutions
  • Analytical thinking, data interpretation, integration skills, creativity and flexibility is required
  • Dynamic personality: takes initiative and ownership, is independently motivated and resourceful
  • Effective multi-tasker

  • Strong collaboration skills, and a clearly proven ability to work with broad group of stakeholders

Education:

  • University Master’s degree preferred
