Job Overview
The Franchise Risk Oversight function in the US Cards Independent Risk organization is responsible for providing oversight and effective review & challenge of Risk Appetite and Limit Setting, the Risk ID process, Concentration Risk, RWA, and Capital Limit Setting Stress Loss exercises.
The SVP, Risk Appetite and Limits, will play a key role in implementing the Risk Appetite Framework (RAF) processes globally across the Consumer businesses. The SVP will collaborate with key stakeholders in first and second lines (Business, Risk and Finance), and Enterprise Risk Management to help manage the firm’s capital and adherence to its RAF.
Responsibilities
- Develop guidelines and coordinate business activities to enhancing and evolve the Risk Appetite Framework which includes taxonomy, statements, metrics, and assessments consistent with enterprise-wide Risk Governance Framework
- Manage the Oversight and Review and Challenge of proposed Risk Appetite Statements and Assessments, Risk Identification process, retail credit risk metrics, stress testing outcomes, and Key Risk Indicators, which includes documenting assessment of rationale, methodology, and alignment with enterprise policy and Risk Appetite Statements
- Lead efforts to update governance related to new or enhanced Enterprise RAF policy and processes in partnership with the first line, including risk return framework and associated metrics for business strategy evaluation
- Manage reporting and communications to key stakeholders on Risk Appetite at a global level (Board, regulatory, senior management reporting).
- Independently analyze and challenge in-business outcomes related to Risk Appetite, Limits, and Stress Testing
Qualifications
- 10+ years of risk management or related analytical/technical experience is required
- With relevant experience in the following areas:
- Consumer or Wealth Management credit risk management
- Consumer or Wealth Management Risk Analytics & Reporting
- Risk management re-engineering
- Management of policies and risk frameworks
- Governance and project management
- Capital Analysis and Stress Testing
- Loss Forecasting, CCAR, CECL, and Basel/RWA
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to independently prepare presentations for an executive level audience, and communicate complex concepts to a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal, relationship management and influence skills
- Strong analytical skills with ability to understand and solve complex problems via practical analyses that will enable optimal decision making
- Experience interpreting regulatory guidance and working with regulators
- Detailed-oriented with a high level of intellectual curiosity and strong sense of ownership
- Contributes to a positive work environment; shares knowledge and supports diversity
- Remains calm and optimistic under pressure
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or other advanced Degree preferred with a quantitative or financial discipline

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$144,480.00 - $216,720.00
