Job Description:

We are seeking a highly accomplished Lead Cloud Storage Engineer (VP), a technical architect and builder deeply proficient in cloud storage and infrastructure. If you possess extensive hands-on experience and architectural expertise with GCP or AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Python, coupled with a proven passion for automation at scale, we encourage you to apply.

Join Citi's Cloud Technology Services (CTS) team and be part of our commitment to transform Citi technology leveraging game-changing Cloud capabilities to drive agility, efficiency, and innovation. We're providing our businesses with a competitive edge by leveraging public cloud scale and enabling new infrastructure economics.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical Project Leadership & Execution: Lead the end-to-end execution of complex cloud storage projects, encompassing detailed architectural design, hands-on implementation, and successful operationalization, ensuring alignment with technical roadmaps and quality standards.
  • Architectural Design & Hands-on Implementation: Design, build, and optimize scalable, resilient, and secure cloud storage solutions across GCP and AWS, ensuring rigorous alignment with enterprise architectural principles, security policies, and performance objectives.
  • Engineering Best Practices: Champion and apply advanced engineering best practices, utilizing modern tooling to enable robust CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure as code (IaC), and policy as code within development cycles.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Integration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional Citi technology teams to integrate cloud storage solutions seamlessly into broader platforms and applications, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
  • Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Provide technical guidance and share expertise with junior and mid-level engineers, contributing to their growth and elevating the team's overall technical capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of progressive hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with at least 3+ years specifically in a technical lead or principal role, architecting, implementing, and managing complex cloud storage solutions in AWS or GCP.
  • Deep expertise in cloud storage services across multiple public cloud providers (AWS, GCP).
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform, and proven ability to design and implement automated pipelines for provisioning, testing, and managing cloud resources at scale.
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms (GKE, EKS, ECS) and their integration with cloud storage.
  • Expertise in at least one modern programming language (Python preferred) with a focus on developing robust automation, APIs, and cloud-native applications.
  • Demonstrated passion for driving automation, advocating for clean code/DRY principles, and solving highly complex, large-scale technical problems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of identifying and resolving critical technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and drive consensus among technical peers and stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
