Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Digital Architecture to lead the digital architecture function across USPB (US Personal Banking) in Citi. The successful candidate will be accountable for shaping the strategy working with the leadership team, determining the approach to implementation, and helping the application teams deliver tangible outcomes. This leader will be responsible for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation, and contribution to future strategy. They will have full management responsibility for a team including people, budget, and planning.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the strategic direction of the function, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in digital architecture and related subject areas. They will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate internally at a senior level, and will be responsible for providing architectural vision for all IT systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise blueprints. They will drive innovation in digital architecture, leading a team of solutions architects and collaborating with the CIO and CIO directs to drive business outcomes and value. Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the digital architecture functional area, developing and implementing modern digital architectures in cloud
  • Provide architectural vision and strategy for IT systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise blueprints
  • Collaborate with the CIO and CIO directs to drive business outcomes and value, providing strategic guidance on digital architecture and innovation
  • Foster a culture of innovation, ensuring adherence to policy and procedures, governance, and compliance requirements
  • Lead a team of solutions architects, ensuring the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient digital solutions across citi.com web platform, mobile platform, and payments
  • Drive cloud and containerization adoption, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and infrastructure
  • Support developer productivity across innovation, providing guidance on best practices and architecture standards
  • Drive significant transformations, leveraging hands-on experience and technical expertise to inform architecture decision
  • Maintains continuous awareness of business, technical and infrastructure issues and acts as a sounding board or consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions.
  • Exhibits sound understanding of theories and practices in architecture and multiple related areas.
  • Has in depth knowledge of how technology integrates within the organization and of direct competitors products and services.
  • Impacts the overall technology function through responsibility for planning, finances/budget, end results, setting policies and contribution to strategic decisions.
  • Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate and negotiate with external parties.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in digital architecture, with a focus on web, mobile, APIs, microservices, and public cloud technologies
  • Proven track record of leading architecture teams and driving innovation in a large-scale organization
  • Hands on application development including leading deliveries of web-mobile applications
  • Broad-based understanding of various architectures, including monolithic, microservices, and event-driven architectures
  • Experience with cloud and containerization technologies, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Strong technical expertise, with the ability to dive deep into technical discussions and provide guidance on architecture and implementation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with business leaders, technology teams, and external partners
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop creative solutions
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Principal Engineers, Distinguished Engineers and Head of Solutions Architecture will have an advantage while not mandatory 


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
