The GenAI Application Development Group Manager is focused on leading a team to build and implement cutting-edge AI and machine learning applications. The position requires a blend of technical expertise in AI development, particularly with agentic systems and prompt engineering, and strong leadership skills to drive strategic initiatives and manage a global team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for automating complex business processes by leveraging advanced AI models and ensuring the successful delivery of revised and new application systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for the team (e.g., performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions).
  • Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management, and planning while monitoring end results.
  • Lead the development and implementation of agentic AI systems to string disparate processes together.
  • Drive the creation and refinement of AI solutions through expert-level prompt development and logic architecture.
  • Oversee the use of AI agents for sophisticated code development and refinement tasks.
  • Establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the wider Technology Team.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of applications development and AI/ML to achieve established goals and resolve complex issues.
  • Provide evaluative judgment based on the analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations, drawing from both internal and external sources.
  • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations by adhering to Policy and applying sound ethical judgment.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in applications development.
  • Proven experience in a management capacity, with experience managing global technology teams being highly advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in Python development.
  • Deep expertise in Prompt Development and the Logic Architecture of AI systems.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying solutions using Agentic AI.
  • A background in Data Engineering is considered a significant plus.
  • Working knowledge of current industry practices and standards in technology and AI.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
