 Velocity Content Asia Lead is a senior level position responsible for delivering Markets content and analysis to clients, in coordination with Sales and Trading teams. The overall objective of this role is to utilize research to improve existing products and regularly engage clients around tradeable opportunities.

This role reports to the Head of Citi Markets Velocity Content, the global team driving content production and content product delivery for Citi Velocity. This is a very important function for the FX and Rates businesses: delivering industry-leading content is essential to both enhancing our client value proposition while also providing our trading teams with the leading-edge insights to effectively interpret markets and successfully manage risks. 

Ideally, this is a role for a journalist with an FX or Rates trading/sales background; an FX or Rates trader/salesperson with an ability to write; or a candidate with an exceptional educational background that can be leveraged into this role. Content Leads post original content and solicit commentary from traders/sales/market commentary groups and research. They also provide a regulatory/compliance firewall to ensure that content is appropriate for external distribution.

Responsibilities:

  • Generation and curation of real-time macro content, with focus on global financial markets. Rates preferred; other asset classes welcome.
  • Engage clients by providing thematic content, market and bespoke analysis. Service unique content requests from internal and client users daily
  • While not frequent, members of the team are required to cover major market events over the weekend and/or span outside of normal working hours
  • Daily coordination with Citi Technology, Sales, Strategy, Trading and Compliance teams. Responsible for maintaining accurate records; particularly distribution and product development.
  • Define metrics with partners to be distributed to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Lead strong governance and controls of the content product
  • Perform research to evaluate performance, determine new strategies and products, and provide product feedback internally
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure is being met
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services; and ensure that all team members understand the need to do the same
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you
  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in a related role
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct own research, articulate ideas and deliver presentations
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Attention to Detail and Accuracy
  • Proven ability to manage to deadlines

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Journalism preferred
