Job Overview
The Associate will be in the Hong Kong Financial Institution team of Corporate Banking. This is an intermediate-level position for managing financial institution clients, and for supporting senior bankers in managing more complex customers. The Associate is responsible for identifying customer needs and collaborating with product partners in cross selling various solutions across the entire Citi platform. The role is also responsible for credit, as well as all risk and control aspects of the client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with senior bankers to provide overall relationship management support.
- Collaborate with product partners in cross-selling a wide range of products, including financing, fixed incomes, foreign exchange, equities, derivatives, securities services, cash management, trade finance and services, and capital markets etc.
- Conduct marketing and execution activities in coordination with all relevant stakeholders from various functions and international geographies.
- Develop understanding of all credit, transactional and franchise risks in coordination with senior coverage officers to facilitate deal execution and risk mitigation.
- Manage all aspects of credit, capital and customer due diligence processes.
- Support business planning, strategy formulation and various department initiatives.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made. Drive compliance with policies and applicable laws, rules and regulations. Apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices. Escalate and report control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience
- Proven and progressive credit experience and / or equivalent product experience
- Demonstrated credit skills, including a background in credit
- Experience with financial institution clients, capital markets, securities markets, derivatives, credit, cash management, trade finance / services and securities services products preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of Corporate Banking business including related products, pertinent regulations and client onboarding, know-your-customer due diligence and credit approval process
- Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated planning, negotiation, organizational and analytical skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
