Job Overview
This role is within Citi’s Finance Services Controllers organization and will be handling business controller responsibilities for the TTS business, working closely with the Business, Operations, LFO/FP&A, Accounting Policy and Treasury.
Citi's Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) business provides integrated cash management and trade finance services to multinational corporations, financial institutions and public sector organizations across the globe. With the industry's most comprehensive suite of digital and mobile-enabled platforms, tools and analytics, TTS leads the way in delivering innovative and tailored solutions to its clients. Offerings include cash management, payments, receivables, liquidity management and investment services, working capital solutions, commercial cards, and trade finance.
The role is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the accuracy and consistent reporting of TTS financials covering financial, management and regulatory reporting.
- Ensuring that financial controls are in place for all key processes and that any control weaknesses are appropriately addressed and escalated.
- Reviews and examines key controls for accounting and reporting processes.
- Understand the impact of new requirements and comply with new control requirements.
- Establish consistent processes and a strong control environment, review procedures and MCA assessments.
- Partners with key stakeholders to drive various Finance and Business initiatives
- Reviews and work with the business in completing the Finance requirements for new and existing products
- Demonstrates an advanced understanding of how multiple processes collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business goals.
- Directly impacts the leadership in multiple process through responsibility for delivery of end results leading to business solutions.
- Uses communication and diplomacy to guide and influence others, in particular colleagues in other areas and external customers.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- Strong academic background with a minimum of a Bachelors in a Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics or related field; Advanced degree a plus
- 10+ years of experience Finance / Accounting
- Ability to work well with others, effectively interact, cooperate, collaborate and manage conflicts
- Strong communication skills, including well-developed verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Result-oriented and can drive discussions to come up and achieve solutions
- Strong understanding of finance concepts and ability to analyze financial data; attention to details
- A self-starter with ability to independently manage work and drive multiple deliverables concurrently.
- Ability to gain consensus and agreement across functions, products and geographies.
- Must have ability to stay ahead in a constantly changing environment. Must be a change agent with strong managerial and leadership skills
- Strong competence in Excel and PowerPoint and knowledge of Citi Financial systems (Pearl, Full Suite, Reg Insight, etc.) a plus
